Briar sat alone on the cold wintery ground. He was in the shadows, with his shining eyes searching the pavement in front of him. A hiss broke the uneasy silence that haunted the alleyway, and a black rat snake about a fox-length long slithered out in front of him with a big water rat in its mouth. It paused, sensing Briar’s heartbeat, and reared up into an S position, ready to strike at moments notice. Briar never flinched, but as quick as a flash he lashed out a giant paw, decapitating the snake. But, the snakes head still flopped over, the nerves of the brain shutting down, and the teeth bit down hard on Briar’s leg. Snarling in pain and frustration Briar knocked aside the skull into the pile of two-leg rubbish. He sat, licking his wound repeatedly and silently cursing and yet grateful that rat snakes weren’t poisonous, but they had a good grip! Briar was waiting for anything, any cat, to come by. He would approach them, ask them where they had come from, invite them into his troop, and if they refused, he would kill them like the snake that he had just tossed aside, except they wouldn’t leave any footsteps on his heart. If one existed in his chest. After the narrow escape in the small tunnel following Gingeroot, he was in desperate need of more recruits. They would take over the clans; it was all part of his plan. Briar shook his pelt, and he unsheathed his colossal claws and scratched the cement with them.
Sparks will fly and the reign will come soon…

|| Just say it, just say it, just say it again. || The beautiful she-cat Aurel walked away farther and farther from her two-leg den. Her paws pulled out in front on each other as she strode toward the end of the thunderpath. She seemed to freeze up with each step she took, she hadn't been farther from her den then this thunderpath. Her breath caught in her throat as she came to the end of the thunderpath. Everything seemed so different then from the window of the monster her two-legs road in.
Aurel walked farther away and as she walked she thought about everything. Things whirled in her mind about her past and her present. The horrible things and the good ones. Luke, Josh, Cleo, Death. Everything seemed to go downhill from there. As soon as Luke left everything had left Aurel. Good luck seemed to turn against her the most. She had almost gotten killed when she had been friends with Cleo. She swore that Cleopatra had led her out onto the thunderpath for a reason, it surely wasn't an accident. There never were any accidents.
Aurel came back to the real world and found that she subconciously turned left and was now passing an alleyway. The russian blue femme looked down the alley and saw a cat. He was scrapping his long claws along the cement of the alleyway. Her dull green eyes never showed any emotion and her stride stayed true as she gracefully turned and walked down the shadowed path. From this point Aurel was ready for anything. She had prepared herself for anything after Luke had left her. When her voice broke at certain words; she fixed it, when memories flooded her mind; she learned to block them.
The sleek dark figure of Aurel soon emerged from the shadows and when the pale light of the moon hit her coat it shinned like a small pool of glossy molassus. Her eyes took on a haunted look like they always had and she opened her mouth and the small but meaningful words slipped out like jell-o.
"Hello, I've never seen you here stranger."
Her voice took on a new tone. It was like the tone she aquirred as an Ice Queen; no heart but ice was filtered into the crystal clear voice. Aurel soon growled a small warning, she couldn't take on this large tom but she meant business.
"It isn't smart to be alone in the Night, things happen to unfortunate souls. Trust me... I would know."
Aurel's eyes slitted at the memory of Josh beconing to her in the Night. The horrible feeling of him pinning her down. She held the emotion in though, it showed, if only for a moment; then disappeared. The emotionless mask that she had on her face then would stay there untill further notice. || It will tear your soul appart again. ||

Briar spotted the glamerous she-cat, and but he pretended not to notice. Her slitted eyes and tone of voice were colder than ice. Exactly what he needed. The moonligth washed the pavement between them white, and he turned, and pinned his yellow eyes on her. "I'm afraid we haven't met." he said cooly, taking no notice to the warning growl. "Alone in the night, no danger will come to me, unless I am sleeping." What a lie! He HAD just been bit by a snake. He sensed a faint whiff of grief, before she had blocked out her emotions with her face. "Because of my so many foes, I shall not tell you my name yet. Perhaps in time..." Briar's tone was swift. He whispered, "See, you are familiar with the lake clans, I suspect?" Briar glanced around, making sure that no cat was within earshot. "My new clan will be taking them over, one clan at a time," he paused, and blinked, "And all of this new clan's cats will be rewarded greatly, as leaders." Brair sat down, curling his lengthy tail around him, still towering above the she-cat. Would she join him, he had no idea. Aurel blinked, this tom was asking a lot. She indeed knew about the clan-cats that lived by the lake. One had even saved her when she had been there. Everything was twisting up. She didn't seem to trust this cat but he had something about him. He seemed to know things but didn't dare challenge them. And what was this about taking over the clans? Aurel wasn't sure she wanted to do this but she wanted to see the tom from Riverclan was it? After all he had saved her life, she didn't even repay him with even an apology! The only reason for that though was because Aurel had been the biggest Ice Queen those days. She didn't want any help from any tom. She remembered just litterally bristling at him, eyes turning to burning slits and her claws unsheathing as she prepared to pounce. Aurel shook her head lightly, taking the searing memory away. She had changed from then, she wasn't as icy as she had been.
"You seem to be making me an offer to join you."
Aurel looked straight at the tom whom she still didn't have a name from. She smiled a small warm smile. The imaginary ice melting a bit. Nothing could melt this Ice Queen. She felt the need to do something exciting, maybe even a bit dangerous and life threatening.
"And I will come with you. There are too many haunting memories here trying to kill my soul."
Aurel walked closer to the tom, her shinning eyes bright and wide, taking in all of the tom's features. This would be a long road ahead of Aurel, she didn't deny that but she also thought of it as a new beginning. Maybe she would meet new cats, these ones though would not know of her foggy past.
"If we are to go then lead the way."
Aurel sat down beside the tom, her eyes iced over and so did her emotions. She would not be figured out on this little adverture.

Briar smiled, showing sharp white teeth. “Good, you are smarter than most cats I’ve encountered.” He licked his lips and a pang of hunger lurched in his stomach. “My name is Briar.” He said, “May I have yours?” Briar’s tone was a sly polite tone, which he most often used when feeling satisfaction. Turning around, Briar saw the dead water rat that the snake had caught. He leaned forward to take a bite, but then thought of the diseases it might carry and all the two-leg garbage I had, in the past, recently eaten. His face curled up into a snarl of disgust as he flipped it over, seeing the disgusting maggots in its belly, making it look as if it were alive. Briar swallowed hard and hissed, “It’s impossible to find decent pry around here. The only thing barely edible is two-leg food! That’s another reason why we have to move to the clan’s land, we’ll starve to death if we don’t!” Briar licked his snake-bitten paw and blood gushed out of the wound, leaving a tang in his mouth. He licked it a few more times, slowing the blood race, and stood up. “Ever since Talon and Venom disappeared, there have been no cats around here eligible to join me until you came along.” He said, referring to Gingeroot’s flee.

ooc;; unfinished
Venom stalked foreward, his power was surging through his whole body. He yawned softly. His run in with Briar was all but pleasent, the foolish large tom thought that he was the king of it all. Venom didn't aprove of that at all. A familiar scent drifted to him.

Briar's nostril's flared at the scent of an oncoming, unwelcome cat. It was Venom, a cat from when the two-legs had attacked them. He heard a faint yawn, but the echoing in the alley made it impossible to pinpoint his exact location. Narrowing his eyes he peered into the darkness of the night, but seeing only shadows of buildings and objects, scattered across the thunderpath. He turned to Aurel, and said, "I scent Venom, he's not exactly the nicest cat on the block." Briar unsheathed his claws, energy flaring through them, waiting to attack any foreign object or thing that dared move in his presence. "It's sad you left before we could say a proper goodbye, Venom.", he said loudly, his mew echoing across the alley, making an eire(earee, airee?) sound that chilled the bones.
"Come, come, this pretty she-cat and I could use some company on this dreaded leaf bare night. Don't leave us, stay awhile.
Briar's eyes gleamed with evilness, which glowed in the darkness with anticipation. His claws made deep clawmarks on the ice, and his massive weight broke the ice when he stepped on it.

Aurel had always been a good cat. Never causing problems to her owners. Things had been good, they have been bad. But nothing that Aurel had ever experienced has felt as sinister, as different as what she was hearing, thinking and seeing. Still all Aurel knew was that she had to get to the clan cats. She didn't nessessarilly want to take them over, she might leave the other cats when this happened but she needed protection. Aurel didn't know what was out there but she knew that many things could tear her soul appart; piece by piece. Aurel looked at the tom that was near her and Briar. She stood her ground, standing as still as she could. She tried to be motionless, she didn't want to move. She didn't know either of these cats so she kept quiet, she listened to what they had to say though. Some things may be important for herself. Too much knoledge did bad things to some cats though. That was what mainly worried her. Her stomach growled, she hadn't eaten very much that day. She had drank some water but she had left a bit after that. She didn't really like eating some of the food that her owners gave her. Some had a funny taste. Aurel sat there and waited for something to happen, maybe something interesting would slip.
