|| Now again I've found myself so far down, away from the sun that shines into the darkest place. ||
Aurel looked through her window from the top of the den that she lived in with her twoleg owners. She had her own room at the very top of the den, it was so bright in here because of all the windows that bordered the perimiter of the room. There was even a skylight on the ceiling that brought in the most light. Even though there was so much light in the room Aurel felt like she was in a bottomless pit that never felt the sun's rays. the light felt so nice on her pelt but soon her mind played a notorious game and made her think the sun didn't produce warmth from it's rays but sheer cold. She screeched and her eyes ran wide open as she raced to the door and she felt like darkness was closing behind her. The paranoia had finally gotten to her.
Aurel then collected her thoughts. She just stood there almost at the door. The cold then slowly seeped into warmth and she opened her dull coloured eyes and she saw brightness and the light of the sun seep into her being. She exhaled as her anxious paranioa turned to calm strength.
Ever since Luke died Aurel had turned into a bitter Ice Queen, she was snobby, rude and obnoxious. the cats that she was friends with now barely wanted to see her anymore. they thought that they could change her but when they finally thought that they had succeded Aurel's stupid owners brought her some new toy home or another type of food to eat and gave her a talk about how much better she was then all the other cats on the block.
They all said that they needed some tom to come and warm up her bitterly cold heart, none was found. None was accepted even as an aquaintance. Aurel couldn't bare the thought of having another tom try to have kits with her. Even the thought of meeting another cat like Luke made her heart jump into her throat. Deep down, no one else knew this but Aurel was only afraid of getting in too deep with another cat because she didn't want their relationship to end like her's and Luke's. She couldn't bear the thought of remembering Luke cold and dead on the middle of the thunderpath. Aurel trembled at the thought.
Cleo had come to visit Aurel much over the time frame. They used to be worst enemies but now they seemed to be best friends. The only thing that Aurel was oblivious to or it was just that she didn't want to believe what she already knew was that Cleopatra; her so called 'friend' always was finding ways to get her into trouble. You see Cleo had loved Josh with all her cold, bitter, retched heart and thought that they were soul-mates. When she heard that Aurel and Josh had mated Cleopatra had spazzed and wanted to take out all her horrible hate on Aurel. She made life for Aurel as hard as she could.
Aurel heard Cleo mewing down, far below but finally in her whole deranged life; she ignored the stupid femme and opened the latch on the skylight. It opened up and Aurel bursted over the rim. She purred as the cool air ran over her head and whispered in her ears and made her eyes slightly water. She then heard one more innocent mewl from Cleo and then an anguished yowl. She saw the siamese cat stalk back to her den.
"Time to go back into the world I know," Aurel whispered as she tried so desperately to cling onto the memories of living with her owners kin by the lake. She had seen the other cats. They were muscular, sleek and fierce looking. One of them though had saved her from falling in the lake. He was a silvery tom that had black markings all over his body. And his eyes, oh his beautiful deep yellow eyes! They looked like a different moon so close to the world.
"I have to meet him again, I need to escape from this ugly place. These cats are seriously lacking the style that those other cats have!"
And with that Aurel slowly made her way down the roof and started down the sunny path of the side of the thunderpath that lead out of the street into the world beyond.
|| I'm so far down away from the sun that shines the light, the way for me to find my way back in to the arms I care about; the ones like me. ||
