Smallstar made her way out of her den, the final decision of who would be deputy fresh in her mind. Her pale green eyes gleamed happily as she hopped lithely onto the High Branch. Her tail swayed nervously as she cleared her throat. She would be waking up many cats, but there were so many things to do. There would be an apprentice ceremony for three kits. Wow, three new warriors in training! Oh, how their Clan had been so unorganized! Well, everything was about to change...she just needed to make that one call.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the High Branch for a Clan meeting!" she yowled, her voice clear and full of authority, but in her mind and inside her body, everything was on high alert. Her tail flicked nervously, her heart beat a million times a minute, and thoughts swam around her head as she tried to recall what she needed to say during this. Her ears flicked forward and backwards as she listened to the dripping of the rain that was sliding off the pine needles and landing on the ground, soaking into the soil and through the dead pine needles that littered the floor.
Although she would love to spill everything out right at that moment, she knew she needed to wait for her small Clan to assemble. Pebblekit, Heatherkit, and Leopardkit were easily in need of apprentice ceremonies. An impatient sigh escaped her lips as her eyes raked across the muddy clearing, watching cats emerge from their allotted dens. And the leader allowed a faint sigh to escape her lungs. An image of Bramblepaw flashed in her mind but she shook it away, her eyes moving downward so she looked at her dappled paws.
Bringing her head back up, she looked around once more, happy to know that their Clan was now in good paws.
Heatherkit pounced out of the nursery as soon as she heard her leader's call. Her heart pounded wildly and the older kit allowed herself to take a few more quick licks of her chest fur. "C'mon Pebblekit!" squealed Heatherkit, her eyes shining happily and joyously. "We're gonna be apprentices today!" she mrrowed with a small leap in the air.
Unfortunately, the one thing she enjoyed most about night was not visible in the sky, and she frowned, looking unhappily up into the cloud-covered dense expanse of sky that lay above her. "Where's the moon?" she asked sadly, making sure her voice was quiet and unheard. The she-cat allowed a small frown place itself upon her features before breaking into a happy smile. She knew that the clouds were covering it, but she was still upset that the clouds had covered the bright shining orb that placed itself within the stars.
On any other night, she'd probably be sitting quietly outside of the nursery, observing the goings-on in camp, but even now she knew they had a new leader and they'd be receiving a new deputy! And best of all, she and Pebblekit would finally be made apprentices! And squeal of delight escaped the she-kits mouth as she rushed to the base of the High Branch, looking up excitedly at the leader that sat there.

Pebblekit was sitting up in the nursery. It was early, but it was his day to become an apprentice. Pebblekit was very jumpy and nervous, but also happy. He looked out the nursery, a low fog was on the earth, and dew was on the grass. It was early. Pebblekit gave a couple nervous licks to his sides and chest, and then Heatherkit zoomed out in front of him. "I'm coming!" He yelped in a friendly way. Pebblekit raced after her, his white and gray body flying. He stopped in front of the high branch, in front of his leader. He was so small against him. Pebblekit looked up at the sky. Gray clouds were everywhere, and the moon only showed little hint in between the clouds. He ignored it.
Pebblekit looked up to his leader. She looked nervous, like him. Pebblekit started getting jumpy with excitement. He would be able to catch prey and explore! It was the day of a life-time. Him and Heatherkit, side by side, become Pebblepaw and Heatherpaw. Oh those names sounded nice. He took a deep breath and licked his chest. "C'mon Heatherkit!" He called to her, then waited for everyone to join them beneath their new leader, Smallstar.
Once Pebblekit had gotten securely settled, he noticed one of his fellow kits was missing. He thought hard. Who could it be? Then it snapped into his brain. Leopardkit! He must've forgot about the ceremony! Pebblekit turned around and walked a few steps back, then called for him. "Leopardkit! You gonna miss the ceremony!"

Leopardkit padded slowly out of the nursery behind Heatherkit and Pebblekit, his tail flicking side to side. His emerald green eyes followed the other two kits as they pounced around, so excited to become apprentices. Leopardkit just wanted to start his training in the morning, he wanted to become the best warrior he could be.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the High Branch for a Clan meeting!"
Lifting his head he looked at the newly named Smallstar as she palced herself on the Highbranch and called the Clan meeting. Leopardkit watched the movements of his fellow kit-mates as he padded behind them talking to hemself lowly. The fact that he was finally become an apprentice is coming to him. He hopes that he can be a good apprentice and make a wonderful warrior to help ShadowClan all he can.
Walking up to where Heatherkit and Pebblekit rested, and sat beside them. Rasping his tongue along his chest, awaiting his new leader to speak. All that was racing through his mind was who would be his mentor and who would be the new deputy of ShadowClan? He tried to ignore the noises that his fellow kits were making, as it was giving him a headache. Leopardkit just wanted to get this night over and get some sleep for his training tomorrow.

Truthfully, spending the night alone had not been on Sablesong's list of priorities. They had returned home from the Moonpool a short while ago, and, overtly, the she-cat couldn't help but feel both indebted to StarClan and disappointed. The latter was a natural feeling. Who wouldn't feel it, after going so far and becoming so expectant? She berated herself for thinking it, feeling sincerely happy for Smallfo- Smallstar. She knew that the newly named leader had the wit and strength about her to lean ShadowClan for moons to come, not to mention that she was kind, and generous. Though she was very silent, Sablesong couldn't hold it against her. Simply put, all cats could choose whether or not they wanted to speak. And the former feeling? Well, it was relieving to get the anxiety off her shoulders on whether she was eligible or not. Seems she wasn't fit for the job, and, although disappointed, she felt somehow satisfied, knowing that her suspicions about her experience, or lack, thereof, could not compete with Smallstar's vast wisdom. The tabby shook her head, trying to clear away those thoughts and focus on going to sleep. Yet the silence was deafening, closing in on her, threatening to crush her until she yielded to it's whim. And, as an after-effect of sharing dreams with StarClan, she couldn't sleep, no matter how hard she tried.
Admittedly, once Smallstar's familiar voice was carried to her ears, the she-cat scrambled up hastily, eager for a distraction. She wondered briefly what the meeting could be about. Obviously, there would be the apprentice ceremony. The sand hued cat couldn't help but frown slightly as the thought of the rambunctious young ones. She didn't understand why, but they irritated her. Their high-pitched squeals and whines could put her on the edge any day. Hopefully though, the to-be apprentices would be mature enough to sit still through the whole ceremony. Which made her contemplate. Could there be a possibility of her getting an apprentice? She knew there were three kits in line; Heatherkit, Pebblekit and Leopardkit. The tabby wasn't one to pick favorites, and, truth be told, she didn't know the youths well enough to know which one she would prefer anyhow.
She sat her haunches delicately upon the cold ground, shivering slight at the frigidity of the earth. It was late, no doubt many had been awakened, but with the amount of gossips in the clan, (including herself) she doubted they would mind. She looked up to Smallstar and deliberately blinked slowly, her head bowing and whisker's twitching in utmost respect. Candidly, she had never really taken much notice of Smallstar before she gained the higher status, but now, the she-cat had taken a giant leap up the adherence ladder. Sablesong could help but small softly to herself as she straightened, raising an eyebrow at Heatherkit's question. Having the perfect response in mind, she went against everything she disliked about the youth in order to reply in a half-hearted tone.
"Even the moon has to sleep sometimes," She replied needlessly, bluntly, "Don't worry, it'll be back." Awkwardness rising through her like a river overflowing, she coughed delicately and added another little sentence. "The clouds are being its blanket right now, like the moss we use to line our nests." She sighed, looking up to try and view any tell-tale signs that the moon was at least watching over them somehow. Was StarClan trying to tell them something? The tabby thought about it for a moment, shaking her head and admonishing herself silently. No, she was being too superstitious. The thought coming to mind, she looked up at Smallstar again, regarding the brown and ginger tabby wordlessly. A deputy would have to be chosen. Sablesong relinquished her crisp gaze on the leader and scanned the camp, trying to take in any candidates that would uphold the position. Russetfur, perhaps? She had held herself on the trip to the Moonpool nicely. Sablesong flattened herself onto the ground, yawning, for the apparent lack of action. Safe to say, she believed the Clan would be in good paws, whoever was chosen, as long as they had the feline atop the high branch to support them.

"Darksoul? Darksoul? Hey, where'd you go, Darksoul?" asked Lightheart, peering around the medicine den. "Hey Darksoul! I told Russetfur a joke, and I don't think my ears will ever be the same. Help please?"
No response. Lightheart tilted his head in surprise. "Strange. That usually gets a snarky comment from you. Are you still mad about what I said? C'mon Darksoul..." said Lightheart as he pushed his way further into the den, even daring to enter Darksoul's private sleeping quarters.
"Huh. No one's here. He must be out collecting herbs. Oh well, let's see if he has any mouse bile left," said Lightheart, perking up as he headed over to the herb stock. Fortunately for the rest of ShadowClan, it was at that moment that Smallstar made her announcement. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the High Branch for a Clan meeting!"
Thwarted, Lightheart made his way out of the medicine den and headed towards the High Branch, where a small group of cats had already gathered including, to Lightheart's delight, three kits ready to be apprentices.
He looked over at Smallstar, standing on the High Branch and surpressed a mroow of laughter. Leader names could be so funny. Smallstar... what did that mean, anyway? Who'd be proud of being a small star? Ah, he was being rude. He was sure Smallstar would make a great leader, she wasn't as stuffy and high-strung as other cats. Now, Russetfur, on the other hand, would make a good deputy, especially under Smallstar. After all, he'd get bored if everyone in the Clan hierarchy was too nice.
He turned his attention back to the three kits. Would he get to mentor one of them? He didn't know about that... being a mentor would cut into his free time, but he supposed it would be fun, especially if he got Pebblekit or Heatherkit. Leopardkit seemed too focused and rigid, mature beyond his age. Well, he supposed it was up to Smallstar.
He sat behind the kits, close to Sablesong, just in time to hear her explain something to Heatherkit, before lying down onto the ground. "Yeah, when the moon doesn't get enough sleep it crashes down to the ground, just like that." Lightheart joked, pointing at Sablesong with his tail.

Why had she even tried to sleep? She should have known that Smallfoot, nay Smallstar, would have taken the initiative to hop onto the Highbranch and start her first ceremony. With her calico tail wrapped around her soft head, Miragesoul reveled in her current state of dryness. A light purr rumbled in her chest until she felt the other warriors dragging themselves out of the den. It was Smallstar's voice, that was for sure. Reluctantly she got up and stepped into the stormy world known as the ShadowClan camp. Before she got too far into the clearing she rasped her tongue across her mossy haunches. She grumbled under her breath when she tasted the grassy plant on her tongue. No matter how comfortable the lichen-like plant was for sleeping she could never get over its texture, so alike its feathery cousin but in everlasting contrast.
The feline moved stiffly along the line of dens until she came to the center of the group. Seeing her friend at eye level with the lowest branches of the pines made her smile, even though the moon kept its face concealed from the hopeful clan. Although the rain has subsided, clouds still masked the night sky. StarClan wouldn't be disapproving of the ceremony, would they? Smallstar was a respectable warrior and would surely make a good leader. Perhaps it would be her choice of deputy, for that was sure to be known tonight. Could they already know her choice? The thought of such a power made Miragesoul tremble inside. She couldn't fathom how much StarClan knew, had they the ability to not only predict certain things, but to also know what the cats below them were musing. After frantically thinking about the matter she scolded herself for such suspicions. No cat, no animal at that, could read another’s mind at any given time. She dismissed the thought and looked at the scene enfolding around the trunk of the proud pine.
The calico saw Pebblekit bouncing heartily into the crowd until he stopped just before her. She began to curl her lips for such an act, but covered her fangs. She was just as excited as he had been all those moons ago. Soon Miragesoul observed the next youthful character to appear: Leopardpaw. He walked with much more caution as to how he toyed with his dignity. He would be an agreeable apprentice: eager but not overly antsy. Pebblekit would be a handful compared to the spotted tom. Soon she located where Sablesong was seated, which happened to be just a few tail lengths away from herself. Miragesoul caught her stiff remark intended for wily youth who were clearly in no state to sleep, even at moonhigh.
Before she let herself forget, she looked up to the ginger and brown tabby and spoke for the first time since she awoke, "So, you're going to get me back for this, are you now?"

She watched Heatherkit ask a question she did not listen to, nor did she have any need to listen to it, but she was intrigued in her love of the sky. The little kit kept looking up hopefully, willing the moon to come out. She blinked and focused on Pebblekit. The little tyke seemed quite impatient to become an apprentice, and Leopardkit just seemed...serious. She smiled down at the three, almost a smiley-like smirk.
A purr rumbled easily and thickly into the she-cat's throat, and it built with intensity as she looked at Miragesoul, amusement glittering in her slightly narrowed eyes. She raked her gaze across the clearing, nodding at each of the cats sitting there, before she looked into the sky. She hoped dearly that StarClan accepted her decision. The cat she was going to pick was strong in the mind, heart, and body, and they loved their clan more than anything. Closing her eyes for a moment, the leader took a deep breath, wishing the moon would come out.
"As you all know, we are in need of a deputy before the moon finally begins to descend. I hope you all understand my decision and hold nothing against the cat I will pick," she meowed, her voice having an air of seriousness to it. "ShadowClan needs to rebuild itself and become as strong as we used to!" she yowled, her exclamation ringing through the forest. Her eyes shone with determination and she flicked her tail before gazing out into the group of cats once more, swallowing back a small bit of fear that raked itself from her stomach into her throat. Smiling softly, the she-cat continued to speak.
"I say these words before StarClan, so that they may hear and approve my choice," she meowed, looking up to the sky. Her heart was probably beating as much as any of the eligible warriors in the camp. It was such a hard decision, but she knew who she was about to choose. She took a deep breath, murmured something quietly to StarClan and, taking a deep breath, exclaimed the words to her Clan.
"Miragesoul will be the new deputy of ShadowClan." Her eyes shone as she hopped off the Branch and touched noses with her dear friend and murmured softly in her ear, "My payback was really a reward. Congratulations." Winking, the leader hopped back onto the lowest Branch, awaiting to listen to the others voices.

Pebblekit felt all the Shadowclan bodies move around him, and he went stiff. Pebblekit felt so small in all of this. He looked around at all the cats with wide eyes, then got excited once again. I get to be a apprentice! He yowled in his mind.
Miragesoul came by him with a small look of disgust, he looked at her with wide eyes, but then she stopped and walked away. He let out his breath, and started shaking once again. Smallstar was about to announce the deputy.
"Miragesoul will be the new deputy of Shadowclan," Smallstar exclaimed. Pebblekit stopped short and stared at Miragesoul, that was the cat who had curled her lip at him, but stopped short, he shook the thought out of his mind. He wasn't a kit anymore! Pebblekit stood up straight. Even though she didn't seem fond of his excitedness, he still hoped the deputy would be his mentor.
Pebblekit stared at the sky, then wondered if he should chant for Miragesoul, or keep quiet. Pebblekit made his decision, and showed he was no kit. Pebblekit made his voice be heared, and chanted at a medium voice. "Miragesoul Miragesoul!" He said nervously, wondering what would come of his chanting.

The stares of the ShadowClan cats, no they weren't on the apprentices at the moment, but on the newly named deputy. The cat that Smallstar, the new ShadowClan leader chose as the new deputy, the one and only Miragesoul. The warrior that snapped at his fellow kit-apprentices. Leopardkit just didn't want to deal with what her issue was with them.
Although he didn't wan't to be on the bad side of his new deputy, and since Miragesoul was friends with Smallstar, it would be like being on both of their bad sides. Ringing his voice out as loud as it would go, he wanted to pitch in, "Miragesoul! Miragesoul!"
After his yowls for his new deputy, Leopardkit rasped his tongue along his light-golden fur, cleaning it some more as his ears and tail flicked. Leopardkit knew that the apprentice ceremony for Heatherkit, Pebblekit, and himself would be going on right after this. In his mind he couldn't keep his excitement down but on the outside he had to. Leopardkit didn't want to seem like he was another irresponsible kit that only wants to be a nusence to his Clan.
Glancing around at the warriors of their Clan. His emerald eyes slowed when he passed Sablesong, thinking about how great it would be to have a mentor like her, Miragesoul, or even Smallstar himself. Three of the greatest warriors he'd seen in the Clan.

Lightheart listened only half-heartedly as Smallstar waffled on about this and that, catching only snatches of her speech: Blah blah blah, moon finally descends, blah blah blah, ShadowClan needs, blah blah blah, Miragesoul will be the new deputy. Wait, what?
Lightheart was struck dumb with surprise at this revelation, but then again, he never really understood clan politics. Ah, well, Lightheart thought, glancing over at Miragesoul. She'll make a great deputy. Russetfur'll be steamed though. Well, at least I still have Darksoul to needle around when I'm bored.
A slight squeaky noise from nearby broke his train of thought, and Lightheart broke into a grin as he realized what it was: two of the kits trying to start the deputy chant. Smiling, he dipped his head down until he was at the same level as Pebblekit, and whispered out of the corner of his mouth.
"C'mon, are you gonna let Leopardkit outdo you? Be proud, let your voice be heard! Here, I'll help," he said, whiskers twitching.
Changing the sound of his voice so that it roughly matched Pebblekit's, Lightheart joined in on the chant: "Miragesoul! Miragesoul!"
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to be a mentor, Lightheart decided. Certain that that would come next, Lightheart positioned himself to catch Smallstar's eye, and pointed surreptitiously at Pebblekit with his tail.
(Blah, sorry for shortness.)

Was this happening? Could this be a dream? She could hear her name spoken by Smallstar, she had appointed her as her new deputy. The calico sat there staring at Smallstar, dumbfounded until the voices of her fellow clanmates sang around her. Any hostile feelings she may have felt before diineshed within seconds - Pebblekit flashed in her mind when she realized her new situation. His voice had started the chorus. Her old friend guilt paid her a short visit when she caught his little voice. She whispered a faint apology before looking up at Smallstar again.
"Thank you, very much. I promise to do everything in my power to make ShadowClan everything it has been and more." The magnitude of possibilities that presented themsleves infront of Miragesoul was so vast it left her in a state of conscious awe. Her voice was strong and confident although it hadn't hit her yet that she would be the cat to prepare most of the patrols and take on some authority in the clan. It meant so much to the she-cat to be of such value, you could say. She prayed to StarClan that her fickle emotions wouldn't hold her back from being what she wanted to be for the clan.
With her green eyes gazing up at the recently repositioned leader, Miragesoul waited to hear which cats would become mentors. Every other moment she spent waiting was consumed by her taking the time to study the gathered cats. Sensing unease amongst many members, Miragesoul realized that it was from her earlier show. Afterwords she would think before allowing herself to act rashly so quickly, for what happened had happened and there was no erasing it.

D.arksoul XX: Large red paws pad into the clearing with evident thuds. The Tom obviously didn't care about being noticed at the moment. He had heard a yowl from outside of the camp, but no words, so he directed himself and Blackstar back to see the commotion(sp). The two tom's weren't out to do much, just renew scents and just wander. Since Blackstar has returned today was the first time he could actually head out of camp without slamming into the dirt. Darksoul had been taking care of Blackstar secretly, even Smallstar didn't know about his presence. Darksoul almost felt bad for not telling his leader for this, but he knew that if he told Smallstar, then Miragesoul wouldn't become deputy. He didn't want to ruin that chance for her, because she and Nightfeather were the only two that he actually liked in the clan after Blackstar dissapeared. It was in the back of his mind now. He padded in, the clouds promising rain, and the ground wishing and beconing for it.
XX: Demeaning green eyes flashed a blank expression to anyone who looked at him. He walked down, parting through the cats up to the black dead tree where the leader called out to the cats from. Darksoul sat back on his haunches and lept up to the high branch. He heard the tree moan under his weight. "Oh hush up." He growled lowley to the tree. He looked at small star and dipped his head slightly. His eyes curious for what was about to happen, and humored for what probably will. He put his muzzle up to Smallstar's ear and whispered in a husky voice, "Blackstar's back." He drew his head back, like a snake coiling and waiting to attack. He wasn't going to of course, he had respect for Smallstar, but not nearly as much as he had for Blackstar. He looked out into the bundle of cats looking up at them and he lept down, landing easily as though his youth came back. He prowled through the cats until he came up to Blackstar, and sat next to him.
B.lackstar ::X He followed the medicine cat back to his camp... His Shadowclan.. They abandoned him. But He was sure they felt the same only opposite. He left to save his clan, he left to help it, not leave it. He entered the clearing, his large black form appearing. His fur was growing back nicely, his long thin tail twitched at the end. He was happy to be back, especially when he saw her. Miragesoul. His whole life and soul was with that femme. Blackstar stopped in his tracks at the outskirts of the felines. He couldn't take his eyes off of the beautiful calico that he fell in love with oh so long ago. His golden eyes still had a fire within them, but they were duller. His once black muzzle now was a dark grey. Blackstar wasn't the Tom he used to be, but neither was Darksoul. They were basically brothers, only not from the same parents, and Darksoul was two moons older than Blackstar. Either way, he was old, and Miragesoul still looked like she could be a new Warrior.
::X Long greyed whiskers twitched, but then he saw Darksoul jump onto the high branch.. His high branch... He whispered something to... Smallstar? Blackstar had to think about it for a minute, but then decided that Smallstar was the name of the new leader that Darksoul told him about. Small indeed he was, while you see Blackstar, this enormous cat that could be easily mistaken as a rouge. Dulled Gold eyes watched Darksoul jump off and come straight for him. Same old Darksoul.. Owning and Scaring small kits. Blackstar smiled humorously, but then wiped it off his face. He knew that facing Miragesoul again would not be something to smile at. Blackstar figured she hated him, and he was ready to accept that, but as long as she knew that he did still love her, he would accept any feeling she had towards him.

Smallstar's mouth pasrted slightly as somewhat of a familiar scent and that of unfamiliar scent caught her attention. She had been thinking quite a lot about the apprentices ceremony, which cat would go to which cat and how the pairings would work out. A yawn split open her mouth, but it caught her off guard because then she saw the two cats that slipped silently into the camp. No...she thought Blackstar and Darksoul were gone, and here she was, about to name mentors and their apprentices, and these two slide into camp, unnoticed. That was until Darksoul whispered into her ear that Blackstar was back. Her tail-tip flicked as she heard this, allowing the medicine cat to know that she had heard what he had said. She would need to speak to the both of them, alone. She wanted to know what had happened, and if they were both okay. Nodding in the direction of Blackstar, her eyes were soon averted to the ground.
How did the old leader feel about her taking up his position?
It probably felt wrong, seeing another cat standing on the High Branch...leading his Clan. She sighed, and as the sound escaped her lips, she regretted it. Straightening her pose, the she-cat narrowed her eyes, casting her gaze out toward her Clan once more. It was her Clan to lead now, and with the help of Miragesoul...needed help...they would soon become the strongest Clan of the four. A smile spread across her face but she snapped out of her happy moment, and looked down upon the three kits that needed mentoring. Her pale green eyes smiled upon them for the smallest of moments before she looked upon the Clan once more.
"Now, as you all know, we have three kits that are in desperate need of mentoring. We have a small Clan, but we are strong, and I hope these three kits can grow up to learn the ways of a strong and valuable ShadowClan warrior," she meowed loudly, her voice fierce and sharp. This was no time for games, this was all business. Slowly, she retraced her earlier thoughts, who would be the mentors of the kits. Nodding once, she opened her mouth and began to speak once more. After this, the meeting would be dismissed, and the thought alone just allowed her to relax visibly.
"We are gathered here beneath the High Branch to acknowledge three new apprentices. By naming apprentices, we show that ShadowClan will survive and remain strong. Leopardkit, from now on you will be known as Leopardpaw. Russetfur, you are ready for an apprentice, you will be Leopradpaw's mentor. Russetfur, you have the skills of great strength and intelligence and I expect you to pass on all your skills to Leopardpaw, so that he may be a loyal warrior to ShadowClan." Smallstar waited patiently for the she-cat to step forward to touch noses with her apprentice before moving on. She wanted this over so she could speak to Darksoul and Blackstar in her den.
"Pebblekit, from now on you will be known as Pebblepaw. Lightheart, you are ready for an apprentice, so I give you the honor of mentoring the apprentice. You have been known for your wit, loyalty, intelligence, and good humor, and I expect you to pass on all your skills to Pebblepaw, so that he may be a loyal warrior." Once more, the leader waited semi-patiently for Lightheart to say something to his new apprentice. Relax.. she told herself.
"Heatherkit, from now on you will be known as Heatherpaw. Miragesoul, you are ready for an apprentice, so you will be Heatherpaw's mentor. Miragesoul, you are filled with intelligence, strength, and leadership, and I expect you to pass on all your skills to Heatherpaw, so that she may be a loyal warrior along with these two other apprentices," she purred. Finally, she was done! She took a deep breath and smiled. "Leopardpaw, Pebblepaw, Heatherpaw!" she chanted loudly, hoping others would follow her with the same happiness that surged through her.
"This meeting is now dismissed," purred Smallstar, hopping off the High Branch. Padding up to Darksoul, she gently flicked his haunches with her tail-tip and meowed softly, "I'd like to speak with you and Blackstar in my den." And with that, she strode off, a serious look on her face, but her heart bursting with joy.

Pebblepaw;; Pebblekit heard Leopardkit start chanting. His chanting was much louder then his own, and Pebblekit heard Lightheart's voice in his ear the next second. Pebblekit nodded and cheered louder, but then the apprentice ceremony was about to start, and he quieted down, but was jumpy. He, Pebblekit, was about to become an apprentice.
Leopardkit got apprenticed first. He became Leopardpaw. Pebblekit became very jumpy. Leopardpaw got Russetfur as a mentor. Not Miragesoul, Pebblekit thought. He could still get the deputy as a mentor! Pebblekit was super jumpy, then, he was apprenticed. Pebblepaw! He yelped in his head. He was so excited, he was finally an apprentice! Pebblepaw, though, did not get Miragesoul as a mentor. He pushed that away as he trotted over to Lightheart.
Pebblepaw touched noses with his mentor, and waited for the kind words to warm his fur. He looked back up at Smallstar as she announced Heatherpaw's mentor. Miragesoul. Pebblepaw was happy for her, and he nodded a congrats to her. Then, Smallstar started the chant, and Pebblepaw's chest shot out and he almost burst with joy.
Pebblepaw's gray and white fur was groomed, but his chest was fluffy as it stuck out. He was so proud.
Littleleaf;; Littleleaf padded into the camp. They were having a meeting. Smallstar had announced the deputy, Miragesoul. She is right, Thought Littleleaf. Then, she announced the apprentices. Littleleaf was older then them, but still an apprentice. She didn't cheer, for she didn't want to be heard. She was all quiet until she saw Darksoul with Blackstar. Her eyes lit up, then dulled when she walked towards them.
Littleleaf stepped up to Darksoul, about the speak to him, then her eyes went wide as she saw Smallstar padding up to them. She took a few steps back. Why did she wish to speak with them in her den? What about her? Littleleaf looked confused as she stepped a few more steps back, then sat down. Hoping Smallstar didn't regonize her.

"Leopardkit, from now on you will be known as Leopardpaw. Russetfur, you are ready for an apprentice, you will be Leopradpaw's mentor. Russetfur, you have the skills of great strength and intelligence and I expect you to pass on all your skills to Leopardpaw, so that he may be a loyal warrior to ShadowClan."
Leopardkit...no Leopardpaw! The young spotted golden kit had been granted the life of a new apprentice and had been given a mentor. Taking his eyes, Leopardpaw scanned the clearing for the cat who was named as his mentor. Spotting the ginger she-cat to his left, picking himself up in a calm manner, he glided his paws over to the female.
Dipping his head, he stated, "I'm pleased to know that you are my mentor Russetfur." Lifting his head and eyes, he touched noses with his new teacher. After he had 'oficially' become an apprentice, he looked back at his den-mates, them becoming Pebblepaw and Heatherpaw.
Pebblepaw got the mentor of Lightheart, the fun-loving warrior. Leopardpaw had always wondered if he got Lightheart as a mentor how would he turn out? Well it's to late now, because he was given Russetfur. Heatherpaw on the other hand, got a very good warrior. She got the honor of becoming Miragesoul's apprentice, the new deputy of ShadowClan's apprentice.
Looking up at Russetfur, he wondered when he was going to start learning to hunt and fight for his Clan. His green eyes giving a curious and ready-to-learn glint to them. This all happened as soon as Smallstar dismissed the Clan Meeting for the deputy being revealed and the apprentices being named.
