Twistedpaw hung around in his den for the morning. It was very early and the fog was like a low cloud around the camp, misty to their view. Twistedpaw squinted and jumped, twirled and flung his paws at the misty embrace, but as soon as it left a new patch of mist came. As this happened, Twistedpaw was silent, waiting. The fog rose slowly with the sun, and Twistedpaw's muscles tensed. He raced over to the highrock and looked hopefully up at his leader's den, hoping he could see that flap of leaf blow, see his leader's, or, mentor's body come out. Ready to train him. Twistedpaw shook his tail in delight. He wanted to go hunting! In the oaks, maybe they would get to climb the Great Oak Tree too! Oh what a joy! Twistedpaw was bursting with happiness inside, training with the leader! Oh, he wasn't even the deputy's kit! This was an honor, and Twistedpaw decided to take it with pride. He waited silently, not wanting to disturb his mentor, the apprentices, elders, or especially the warriors. Some could be real mean in the morning, even though Twistedpaw looked up to them with great pride and happiness.
Eh that sucked :3

fernstarThe regulated breathing that comes while sleeping was soon washed away with a deep sigh of awakening. The grey body that slept alone in a den of cold rock walls and a sandy floor had been in a comfortable, warm position with her tail curled around her nose. Unlike the early morning music from the persistent storms, a rare gift was bestowed upon the clans, for now anyways. Outside the fog rolled throughout the territory and into the cavernous camp, giving the yellow stones an eerie grey wash. Fernstar stretched her stiff limbs and yawned, starting her morning routine. On an average day she would have groomed herself but felt much too excited for it once she came to the realization of the weather. Sitting just out of sight, she leaned up against the eastern wall of her den, angled towards the lake and the receding tree line. Happily she stared out into the peaceful land around her, gazing deeply at the lake's contours and the lining of each clan's individual forest. In both ShadowClan and ThunderClan the fog weaved between the trees and became so smooth that it created the illusion that no trees had degraded the silk. Across the lake in RiverClan the fog bordered the fragile reeds and tumbled into the surging streams. The forest of WindClan couldn't be considered like the forests of maple or pine, although the fog still had its overbearing power on the face of the land. The once stark, water-logged hills became a scene of serene mystery. All of these thoughts, feelings and pictures were running its course through the leader's mind.
Before long, out of the corner of her eye, she recognized a figure seated below. He sat with a patience only a cat could know and the silence of the fog itself. His respect and obvious excitement was wonderful to see. Focusing her gaze onto the well decorated body of her apprentice she smiled and made her way towards the path. Being careful not to disturb anyone she began to wonder if Maplefeather had set out a dawn patrol, We'll find out soon enough! she thought hopefully. As she neared the young tom she whispered her greeting, "Good morning, Twistedpaw." Seeing as he had been apprenticed just a sun earlier, she knew the reason behind his enthusiasm and decided to answer his possible question. "I thought we'd head into the forest so I could give you a true tour of our home. Perhaps we could go to the lake after. I have some ideas for our first lesson."

Twistedpaw's lips curled into an attempted smile. A breeze blew across his ears and the fog rised slowly, slowly above his head. Twistedpaw ruffled out his fur and put a paw on a rock, still smiling. His eyes were bright with excitement and he shook. Not from cold at all, from pure excitement of his first training session.
Twistpaw looked proudly up at his mentor as she spoke kind words to him, then sat respectfully before Fernstar. "Greetings, Fernstar." Twistedpaw then opened his maw to ask what they were going to do, still with gleaming eyes, he ruffled out his fur then closed his mouth again. Fernstar had already answered his question.
Twistedpaw nodded his head. Of course he would have to see the forest first! But what Twistedpaw was hoping for was a battle, a hunt! Something exciting! Perhaps this tour would be exciting though, perhaps his leader, scratch that, mentor, would be filled with happiness and playfulness. Twistedpaw searched his mentor's eyes hopefully, hoping he could find out what would happen at the lake. Her idea. Possibly the would hunt! Or fight?
