Nightfang A chocolate brown cat watched as the mouse scurried through the forest. The tom licked his lips and stalked quietly up to it. "Here mousy mousy mousy," he thought with a grin. Before the tom knew, he had pounced and the mouse lay dead beneath his paws. He grinned, but restrained himself from eating it. The Clan was to be fed first, Nightfang would not disobey the warrior code. He picked it up and padded on, looking for more prey. The tom heard another rustle of leaves, but it smelled of cat this time, not prey. He hissed in annoyance, dropping the prey. He lashed his tail and hissed, "Who's there?" Nightfang sat, wrapping his tail around his paws and waited. He could not see the other cat, but could smell it. Weather it was a tom r a she-cat he could not tell. He flexed his claws and his amber eyes stared in the direction the scent was coming from. He yawned and sniffed again, he could tell at least this: The other cat was ShadowClan. He was getting frustrated after the cat had still not answered him. ShadowClan or not, this cat was already getting on his nerves.

TALONWHISKER
The bush had rustled but once. The rustler of the shrubbery? Talonwhisker. The Shadowclan tom had immediately recognized Nightfang's scent. So, after knowing the tom he would be confronting, the long haired black tom stepped back and silently disappeared within the shadows. Talonwhisker had been hunting as well. He enjoyed hunting alone, as he guessed Nightfang did, too. Clan life was good, but sometimes it was good to have privacy and space. It's a necessity for most cats. Hunting alone was the best way to quench this mandatory cat problem.
The warrior had already gone hunting for Shadowclan, gone on two border patrols and lounged around the camp watching as his clanmates share tongues with each other. Now it was his alone time, and mealtime. He liked his meals hot and fresh. So far everything had been pleasant. However, as soon as he ran into Nightfang is mood turned stony. It made him feel like he wanted to do something...
"Hello, Nightfang." Talonwhisker asked solemnly behind the other warrior. The lynx like cat had seemingly come out of nowhere. One moment he had been by the bush, next he was behind Nightfang, sitting in a tree looking down at him.
[[ew. Short sorry.]]

The brown tom now recognized the scent as Talonwhisker's. Nightfang looked at the other tom and nodded a greeting. Sitting down, he meowed, "Hello Talonwhisker." He wasn't exactly happy to see the tom, but he was still friendly enough. The wind blew through his chocolate brown pelt. Hunger clawed at Nightfang's stomach as he smelled the mouse. Sighing, he looked up at the tree that Talonwhisker lay in. Then he lashed his tail and asked, "Having a nice day, Talonwhisker?" This was all because he had to keep his mind off of the mouse. He would not disobey the warrior code by eating it, no matter how hungry he was. He wrapped his tail around his paws and hissed as his stomach growled.

TALONWHISKER
The tom twitched his long, hooked whiskers in amusement as he observed Nightfang's displeasure. Everyone seemed to be angry around him. Was he that contagious. At that, Talonwhisker could have smiled, but, being the way he was, he didn't, and simply continued to stare at the brown warrior with his cool green eyes. The type of eyes that speak for themselves. The type of eyes that have a challenge in them without actually meaning to. Talonwhisker dipped his head at Nightfang's greeting. He really didn't feel like starting a conversation.
The wind picked up, blowing the many scents of Shadowclan through the eerie pine forest that Shadowclan's territory was made of. The black tom breathed in deeply, inhaling the scents of Shadowclan that he cherished so much. The smell of pine cones, needles, shadows...mice. Talonwhisker's head glanced downwards, peering at the mouse at Nightfang's paws. Slowly, his gaze traveled up to meet the other warrior's eyes. They were hungry. Talonwhisker's gaze bore into Nightfang, and if they had been lasers, Nightfang would've been a pile of soot. Everyone in Shadowclan knew that Talonwhisker was one of the most loyal cats in Shadowclan, and that he had no mercy for those who broke the warrior code. The tom continued to stare steadily at Nightfang.
"My day was good. You?" he said in a clipped voice.

His eyes glanced at Talonwhisker and Nightfang replied, "It's been alright." He stopped from adding, 'besides how starved I am right now!' He hissed softly as he saw the way the tom was staring at him. He knew Talonwhisker was extremely loyal to the warrior code and the way he was looking at Nightfang said that he knew Nightfang was hungry. But did Talonwhisker really think he would break the warrior code? Because he wouldn't, especially now with a cat watching. But even if he was alone he would make sure the clan was fed first. His amber eyes looked away from the prey now. His ears twitched as he heard rustling leaves. There, was a vole in his sight. Nightfang dropped into the hunters crouch and pounced on the vole. It died silently, not alerting other prey that may have been around. The brown tom picked it up and dropped it by the mouse. Today's hunting was good for being leafbare.
