.:Darksoul:. Large pale paws padded across the den that had been smoothed down by generations of medicine cats and sick patients long before his time. Everything smelled of herbs, and he knew that he smelled of a mix of herbs himself. It was his aquired scent that he had picked up since being a medicine cat. He padded around his den looking to make sure everything was in place and every herb was stocked up. He sighed after making sure that all herbs were stocked and in order. His den was fairly large, so it could hold many patients at a time, but he had only seen it full twice. Both of them was because of a battle either from Riverclan or the wretched Thunderclan. Darsoul knew that Thunderclan had crossed their border, and had attacked their patroll unrecognizing that they had crossed the border. His fur bristled at the thought of the stank of Thunderclan in shadowclan territory. His fur lay flat on his back again when he realized that only memories of the incident were here and that the stink of Thunderkittens was only a fadded memory.
Darksoul looked at his nest and started raking out the dead and dried up moss and replaced it with new and green moss that he stored in the back of the den. Once he finished with his den, he looked around at the empty nests with no moss in them. He wouldnt waste moss by putting some in a nest that would not be needed, but if that kit kept on messing around, Darksoul would be forced to keep the kit with him at all times, and thats the last thing that Darksoul wanted, was a kit. He didnt even want an apprentice, let alone a kit. Darksoul didnt like kits, nor did he love. He didnt beleive in mates nor love. He only helped out when needed and gave herbs so the clan would grow strong. He also just advised the leader so that he could make sure Clan blood would reign in the dense forest.
Pushing his way through the ferns of the entrance to his hollow, he padded out to the clearing. He took a peice of prey from the fresh kill pile and looked around. Apprentices were out doing warrior training. Good, now there might be some peace in camp. He really hated apprencites, and their lively-ness. They were so active and not at all disciplined. The kits were resting and the whole of the camp seemed to be calm and controlled. He settled down to eat a vole he picked from the pile, and once done, he discarded it. He looked around camp and settled down for a small cat-nap. It was a little past sun-high and the chance for rain was none. All was well, and the grumpy 'ol Darksoul purred. His green eyes closed and his breathing became shallow and deep and sleep overcame him.

[shadow=white,left,300]Nightfeather**[/shadow]
From under a streak of sunlight lay the midnight-furred Nightfeather. She stared at her paws as the peace in the clan lasted over the few days, allowing for this femme to take some time for herself. She wanted to at least look good everyday for Hardsoul, the tom that she had fallen for, hard. Not many toms had been able to break through the barrier that Nightfeather had up but he had done so successfully. She almost had the feeling that she was happier knowing that she had someone like him in her life.
Nightfeather had recently fed herself to a good point and her pelt was nice and groomed. The healthy shine from good health shone in the bright sunlight and in the pale moonlight. Her piercing liquid gold eyes still had their sharpness, they still had their mischievous gleam. She stayed strong and fit, not getting fat or lazy. She would probably scold herself for getting into a state like that.
Nightfeather got up from her spot and she heard her joints pop in protest. She must've been lying down for a while, she'd never heard them pop like they had a second ago. Brushing away the though, she scanned her surroundings, she was bored and wanted to do something with something or someone. When her golden gaze fell on the medicine cat, Darksoul, deep in slumber, a sly smile spread across her face. She crept forward as silent and as graceful as a butterfly in the night air and positioned herself directly infront of him.
A wicked smile replaced the sly one as she leaned in close, trying to catch him by surprise.
"Boo."

.:Darksoul:.
Lynx like ears twitched at the Boo he heard in the distance of his sleep. He was more exhaughsted than he had realized, and his sleep was arouzed by Nightfeather. Blinking slowly, the night pelted she-cat came into view, her golden eyes staring at him. His own green eyes blinked sleepily and he turned in his test, onto his paws. He raised his flank in the air and pushed his front legs out in front of him, taking a long stretch and his jaws seperated in a large yawn. His paws spread and his claws unsheathed themselves while he stretched. Darksoul stood up and looked down on the she-cat and a smirk crawled into his face, his eyes still with sleep in them.
I hope I didnt ruin your play. Should I have been scared? Darksoul sneered and bent his hind legs and sat down on his haunches, and he let his muscles relax. He brought a large paw up to his jaws and he licked his pads, getting them wet and he swiped it over his ears and over his nose. Darksoul continued this grooming to make time inch by a little faster. Once finished he set his paws back in place, close to his belly, and he wraped his tail around his body and rested the tip of it on his paws.
So how is Hardsoul? Darksoul knew of the tom warrior. He was a bit younger than he and he remembered him as a kit. Both Hardsoul and Nightfeather were fairly mischevious kits, and it seemed reasonable that Nightfeather and Hardsoul would become mates. Great, more annoying kits in the clan, and.. he thought. Nightfeather being swollen with them. Oh I would give a whole moons worth of mice to see her fat. His thoughts were interupted when he realized that Nightfeathers eyes were still on him (sorry if thats power play!!) and his own green eyes were well blocked anyway. All of his thoughts and feelings were blocked behind a well built wall that not even StarClan could penitrate(wow cant spell). He watched the dark she-cat and waited for her words to reach his lynx like auds.

[shadow=white,left,300]Nightfeather**[/shadow]
Nightfeather stood up rigid, an irritated smile plastered to her face. First, her sneak attack didn't go as planned, he only sneered at her. She was expecting a jump, or maybe just a little jolt even, instead of that she got a, "I hope I didnt ruin your play. Should I have been scared?" Hmph. Maybe later on she would show this tom what being scared was all about. If he was a cat without fear, then the best way to get him scared was to put the fear in him. As they say, how do you scare a cat without fear? By putting the fear, in them.
Second, before Darksoul was able to hide his thoughts from Nightfeather's searching gaze, she caught a glimps of what he was thinking. A snarl slowly formed in her chest as she replayed his thoughts.
"That's a lot of mice," she growled, peering at him from slitted lids. "The good thing for me though," she started, an evil smile forming on her face, "is that you would be seeing me more often then you would probably want." She slid back down gracefully into her first position settled before the tom. Still feeling giddy from her last sentence, her mind conjured up something that she would obviously have to take in mind.
"What if he doesn't want kits? Ever think about someone else for once?"
Nightfeather frowned, would Hardsoul want to have kits? Some males didn't want things like that happening but did Hardsoul? Nightfeather never would look into her mates thoughts unless it was neccissary, but was her desire to know if Hardsoul wanted kits that strong? Would she dare peer into the soul of the one that she loved for that?
Nightfeather sighed and continued to stare at Darksoul, waiting for him to say something.

A smirk crawled into Darksoul's mawl. Nightfeather wasnt pleased that he wasnt scared like a kit when she said the meaningless 'boo'. Darksoul's green eyes looked as blank and plain as the blue sky outside. Darksoul was hardly scared by anything, not even starclan. As a medicine cat, he couldnt be. He had to get answers, and being nice and scared wouldnt get you the answers. You had to press cats, peer into their souls, and just be very persistant.
He felt Nightfeathers sharp claw peirce into his thoughts and he put up another wall before she could taste what he really thought, but she had gotten a sniff of something. When she spoke she acted like she new everything. Darksoul rolled his green eyes and shook his head. He would hate having a stupid self concided wanna-be know-it-all in his den every day for atleast a week or two. When he listened to her next statement it made him laugh.
No, as a medicine cat I only care about myself! Darksoul laughed harder and his green eyes were amused, but thats all that was revealed. Nightfeather couldn't go any deeper than what could be seen. Darksoul laughed and placed the tip of his tail on Nightfeathers shoulder. Dont worry Nightfeather. If Hardsoul loves you like you love him, then I'm sure he will have kits with you. Besides. Its not like he is bearing them. Darksoul chuckled and looked at Nightfeather. What was she so worried about? His lynx like auds swivled in place and he wondered when she would be leaving, but then he knew Nightfeather. She wouldnt leave unless bored or was called upon by someone else, and even then she might not have left.
Darksoul looked at Nightfeather, oh how she had irritated him. She always tried to dig into peoples personal life and their thoughts when she wasnt wanted, but thankfully, Darksoul had learned better. He learned this on his first dream with Starclan as a kit, and that prophecy still rang in his head, and he had figured it out. But he didnt need to talk about it anymore. It had already happened and he knew the outcome. Darksoul felt happy with himself because he knew more than the average cat. Even the Leader.
Darksoul looked at Nightfeather and rolled his eyes. If you want to know so badly, then why dont you just ask him instead of peering into his soul? He hissed. Her downfull mood made him angry. He hated being around cats who always worried about a different cat and their feelings, but never did anything about it.

"Haha, if he was the one having them then I would think that he wouldn't even want to think about it." A smile was in place on her face that sparkled in her eyes even. The thought of kits did trouble her a bit, not that it would compare to the "pure and heart-stopping" feeling you get when you actually have the kits. Motherhood was something that once given to you, you'd never want it taken away from you. Nightfeather begged to differ but when she actually thought about it, it was pretty amazing that instead of just taking lives, you could give it.
She stretched out one leg after another, letting the circulation run better. She fully stretched her cramped limbs, taking her time. When she was finally satisfied with her comfort level did she answer Darksoul's question with a polite answer.
"I'm afraid of the answer," she simply said. Needing her paws into the ground with a rythmic feel. She paid attention more to the smallest tweaks or the light sound of Darksoul's breathing rather than the paws in front of her. Trying to keep it so though, she tried to concentrate on both. The rythm she had though, was just as quickly lost as it had begun.
