Willowpaw burst through the trees, her tiny striped chest heaving as she romped around the clearing, batting falling golden leaves in the crisp leaf-fall air. She mewed with delight as she played, unaware she was close to the ShadowClan border. Her mentor was away (doesnt know who it is yet XD) and she was taking advantage of her time alone. Finally, she collapsed against a large oak, licking her paw absently. Thats when she got a real feel for the loneliness that surrounded her. Night was falling, dipping its slender cloak of black around the surrounding forest. She wasn't done playing yet, so she decided to wait and try to see if she could hunt for a while and at least bring something back for the Clan. She stealthily crept through the forest, her tail waving and her mouth open, scenting for prey. But she found none, and she sat down, exhausted, and closed her eyes. She woke into a world of darkness. Willowpaw jumped up, surrounded in a cloak of black. She let out a startled mew as she was goosed by a stick and ran full out, thinking an enemy was chasing her. Run, run, run! Hurry! Run! Back to Camp! But which way was camp? She skidded to a stop, her heart thudding, blinded by the darkness. Where was she now? She whirled and headed another direction, meowing in distress. Inn her blindness, she ran into a thornbush, its prickly arms grasping her soft, long fur and snagging her against them. She struggled and wailed in horror, unsure of what was causing her the pain. But it was no use. She was trapped. [/size]

A pretty tortoishell she-cat padded through the woods, stopping every once and a while to sniff a herb or flower that swayed in the gentle breeze of the day. She was entranced in the scents that wavered in the air around her, and thought particularly about nothing.
How mouse-brained cats will think I am, padding through the forest and sniffing the flowers like a kitten just out of the nursery!
She kept a wary eye out for any cat that might be watching her, and then jump out and start laughing. Mudpaw knew that she and Cedarclaw were supposed to have a battle training lesson today, but she hadn't seen her yet. Even though she was a medicine cat, she could still have training to protect herself, right? Mudpaw focused on some battle moves that she had seen warrior apprentices do, and practiced them over and over in her head, so that she could do them perfectly when the time came. But it was one thing to do it in the theory of her mind, and another to do it in practice. She crouched down and slunk foward, as if to attack some imaginary foe.
Then she heard a shriek and a wail, and she sped foward into the clearing. Willowpaw was caught in a thornbush, wailing like bloody murder was about to get her. She leaped forward and over to her fellow apprentice, then said, "Willowpaw! What in the world? Do you need help?" Of course she needs help you dum dum! Do you think that the bush is some sort of condo that she bought?!
The she-cat started clawing and biting through the sticks and briars, and finally fought until there was a free path for Willowpaw. She stepped backward and panted, feeling a sore in her mouth that had puffed up. When biting through the briars, she had jamming one right into her gums. Spitting out blood frmo her mouth, she said, "Are you okay? What made you so mouse-brained that you ran straight into a thorn bush?"
