//Hardsoul, Male, Warrior// //Feelings- lonely//
Hardsoul pressed his stomach against the cool earth. It was damp, and made his fur cling together, but he was so close to catching the enormous hare that was unaware of his presence, nibbling on some tall grass near an old beach tree’s trunk. Slinking along noiselessly, in a hunter position, he eyed the meal, and is jaws watered. He sprang upon it and eradicated it before it had time to make a sound. The prey was so big it put strain on his neck, and he carried it over to halfbridge to feast upon it. The elders had been fed and the clan was about to settle down for the night. Hardsoul preferred the starry sky above him, and the air blowing through his fur, instead of a cramped nest, and all those cats squeezed together. The moon glowed above him and he stared up at it, wishing he were on it, just to fulfill his curiosity. He thought about Nightfeather, and Miragesoul, the vision of Reefpelt leading the camp, and Dawnwind almost always screeching at him. Sometimes Shadowclan could be so ignorant, sometimes they could be stealthy and clever, and sometimes they could just be plain evil! So, Hardsoul sat on halfbridge, eating his “well deserved” hare, and wishing some company would happen his way by mistake…

A dark, lithe shadow fell across the already darkened ground as Nightfeather walked along the barely visible path. The pretty she-cat had been feeling lonely for the past few days, nothing was there to entertaine her. She hadn't seen Hardsoul in a while and she missed his presence, she also missed the warmth of his fur as it warmed her own pelt. She sighed deeply to herself as she looked up at the pale moon as her emotions swam feebily in her head. Nightfeather had soon started to wander around the area, she didn't care where she was going at the moment. All she seemed to care about was getting somewhere, anywhere. If it got her somewhere in even more darkness, she didn't care. If it got her somewhere with blinding light, let it be, she didn't seem to care. As the she-cat neared the half-bridge, her golden eyes danced across the water. The light made it shimmer slightly and everything was so still. She had been walking forward still untill an all too familiar scent came to her mind. She stiffened and her eyes peered into the darkness, her heart nearly jumped out of her body as she saw the familiar pelt of Hardsoul sitting on the half bridge. Nightfeather turned her path toward him and when she came to stand beside him, she sat down. She curled her fluffy tail around her paws in uncomfortableness, she hadn't talked to Hardsoul in a while and she felt the need to be with him more. She needed this, her nerves felt shot and she moved rigidly instead of her usual grace.
"Hey there..." her greeting decended into the night and it sounded small, scratchy and weak. She forced a small, crooked grin and looked at the tom beside her.

//Hardsoul of Shadowclan// Hardsoul was staring at the water when he heard a faint noise. He scented Nightfeather before he saw her. The breath left his chest, and he breathed out, his breath in a white cloud. As she sat down beside him he could feel the warmth from her pelt. Nodding his head as she sat down, he said, "Is something troubling you? Tell me." a faint smile appeared on his face, and he moved closer to her, trying to somehow silently sooth her, even though he knew she might not like sympathy; that was something he had learned before. he felt since the meeting with Reefpelt, he had been disconnected with her, as if she, Miragesoul and dawnwind had been in their own little world. Sometimes he wished he knew what was going on between them, but it was their business. "Do you want some of this?" he pushed the hare toward her, "I cannot eat it alone, its much too big." He swallowed, hoping she would accept. Nightfeathers voice was weak, unusual for her. How odd it was to see her in her current state.

A sickly sweet smile spread across Nightfeather's face. She felt slightly like a lunatic sitting under the light of the moon and her tail kept wrapping and unwrapping around her paws. It felt like it was nervousness to her but she wouldn't know why she would be nervous. It wasn't like the she-cat to be this vulnerable, to be this collected, to be as quiet as she was now a days. It felt like she was slowly losing control of her regular self and another side of her was coming out, coming undone from it's suffocatingly tight prison.
"Nothing is wrong Love. I'm just a bit on the sleepy side," she replied to his first sentence with silky smooth words that flowed out of her maw. She tried to bring back the old Nightfeather in her actions. She had to think about what she did back then that she didn't do now.
Hm... Flirty? More seductive actions? More sharp retorts? Many more things had started coming to her. When Nightfeather realized how much she had changed a small, dry laugh escaped her lips. The more she lived, the more she changed and with those moments life seemed so much more different. It wasn't that it was a bad thing but it was just the bit new to the midnight dark femme.
"And yes thank you," she took a few nibbles out of the hare that Hardsoul had with him. Food in her rumbling stomach felt good. "I was a bit hungry actually." The hare provided her enough nourishment to keep her eyes open and her muscles flexed and ready for anything. It also helped to keep her mind fully aware and awake.
The warmth that came from Hardsoul's body felt good and she pressed against him, hungry for the sudden warmth. Her eyes closed for a moment and she peered into the murky night. The water still glittered slighly from the reflected light of the moon and the light New-Leaf winds swayed the trees and the grass like a gentle caress. She put a crooked grin on her face and she recognised more of the qualities of her old self. Nightfeather soon thought about why she was recognising them instead of feeling the new, eerie power of her actions and feelings. They must've been only burried deep inside her mind cause when they came back to her they seemed fresh and not quite new.
Nightfeather turned to her love and threw the smile in his direction. It had felt like moons since she had talked and sat near him. His familiar scent calmed her further and her muscles unflexed and her tail finally stopped wrapping and unwrapping itself around her paws. Her tail did find his though and she entwined it around Hardsoul's to see what he would do. Would he be surprised at her sudden change in moods? or would he accept the changes?

Two amber slits of eyes split the darkness of the night, as Hardsoul stared at Nightfeather. He was so weary of all the confusion going on, and had been separated from her since the meeting with Reefpelt where she had mysteriously vanished with Miragesoul and Dawnwind. He cut off his gaze at her and placed his head on his forepaws.
“Ah, so, what have you been up to, beloved? The clan seems to have all gone their separate ways; I don’t know half of Shadowclan’s cats.” He asked leisurely. Watching the waters of the lake glisten made him think of Starclan’s gates. Hardsoul stiffened as he felt her tail in his. They intertwined, and he then relaxed, letting the emotions of their moment sink in.
Hardsoul raised up his head, then brought it back to its former position in laughter. Letting his body go limp, he slid from the bridge, his tail suddenly sliding out from hers, and was still laughing as he hit bitter water. Sinking slowly, Hardsoul opened his eyes to a surprisingly clear world. The water was a filmy gray color, and the underwater plants swayed in a liquid breeze. Looking up he could see the moon, it was blurry, and the bubbles made it hard to distinguish the shape of Nightfeather, still there on the bridge. He must call her down to join him! Swimming to the top of the water, he broke the waters grasp, and found himself falling into the sky…
Hardsoul’s eyes snapped open to find himself still there on half-bridge with Nightfeather. He was almost disappointed that his dream wasn’t real. It had felt so very pleasant, and he wanted to do it again. He slid fro half-bridge rather abruptly, his tail sliding away again, and he hit cold water. Opening his eyes the water wasn’t clear; it fogged his vision and hurt his eyes. The underwater plants snagged at his feet, and cut his paws with sharp rocks. His brain felt woozy, and he felt drowsy from lack of air. The breeze of liquid was strong and pounded through his ears, paining him greatly. Closing his eyes his lungs screamed for oxygen, but his paws wouldn’t move, and he lay there at the bottom of the lake, close to eternal sleep.
