Hardsoul laughed and thought. This was accually the first time he had felt, well, happy since his kithood! He caught up with Nightfeather and the two of them raced side by side. Hardsoul looked in Nightfeather's direction and his face broke out into a smile. He charged a few inches in front of Nightfeather, but she caught him and he challenged her, "Race you to the top of that pine tree!" He jumped onto a limb of the tallest tree around and looked back at Nightfeather, in friendly competition.

"Oh!" Nightfeather halted and leaped beside Hardsoul. She landed very close, noses almost touching, she was hoping to catch him off guard. Her eyes were their irresistable liquid gold pools. "Bring it!" she hissed, not in anger but in excitement. She then gracefully started to climb, as fast and as carefully as she could. It seemed like an eternity since she was experiencing this much, what was the word? Happiness! Happiness is what she felt, tingling throughout her quivering body. "Try and catch me!" Nightfeather said in a sing song voice. She let out a high clear note. Oh my god! Nightfeather sang a note, she hadn't done that since she was an apprentice. How strange this tom was making her feel...

"Bring it yourself!" He yowled and leaped onto her branch. His claws dug into the fresh bark and made him feel like a worryless apprentice. He stole a gaze at Nightfeather. No one had EVER made him feel this way... {short time limit}

(forget that recent post im starting over) "Bring it yourself!" yowled Hardsoul and he leaped onto her branch, but barely kept his balence. His claws dug into fresh pine tree bark and he clawed his way ahead, breathing hard. He felt like he had a reason to live other than serving the clan. He knew cats lived for these moments that made them feel like young apprentices, moments that made him worryless, moments that he would keep forever. He clawed his way accedeintaly onto a flimsy branch that couldn't hold his weight it broke with a loud SNAP! and Hardsoul fell and held onto a branch with only his forepaws. His hind legs scrambled to lift him and grip something. He looked down and saw the ground about 15 fox-lengths away. I'm going to DIE! he thought, and he knew he could hold on, but for how much longer? He watched Nightfeather on the branch, this is what it all came down to, would she help him, or call him Lovely and laugh as his slipped to his death?

Nightfeather laughed again and heard the snap, she froze up as she turned her head to put her terrified gaze upon Hardsoul, "No!" Nightfeather jumped on the trunk of the tree, bounced back, and made a jump for Hardsoul's scruff, "You will not fall," she hissed through fur. Nightfeather let them both drop a couple of tail lengths to a branch closer to the ground, she gripped a branch above her head and hissed, "Jumff downf!" she hissed through the fur, she didn't know how long she could hold both of their weight. Nightfeather heard a terrifying sound; claws slipping down bark I'm going to fall! No! I have to put Hardsoul down! Nightfeather swung herself near a branch, drapped Hardsoul over it and let go. The air against her pelt made a big difference, she laughed, it had been a long time. She smiled as she fell and hit the ground with a thud! All of the breath whooshed out of Nightfeather and blackness spead all along her mind. Darn.

Jumped down branch from branch and onto the ground as fast as his paws could take him. he ran to where Nightfeather lay. "NIGHTFEATHER!!!" he yowled. She couldn't be dead!!! He nosed her and felt her heart rate. It was beating(I don't know if you want your cat dead or not, so I'll just say Hardsoul felt a pulse) Hardsoul grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and tried to drag her to the camp. She was too heavy for him, so he put her against an oak tree and RAN like the wind into camp! He shot into the medicine den and screeched, "Nightfeather fell 15-fox-lengths out of a tree! Come quick!" to the clan's medicine cat and ran back to where Nightfeather was. She might just have died for him!

[no alive is good ]
Nightfeather hissed with pain, Ugh, I will feel this tomorrow. Didn't I die? No, this is too painful to be death. Well now. I just have to see what will happen.

Nightfeather hissed again in pain, Ugh! Stop! She tried to move but her aching body caused her to stop. She opened her eyes, a sliver, she saw Hardsoul pacing back and forth in front of her lifeless body, she sighed. Hope he wasn't here for a night or something... Nightfeather let out a weasy and breathless laugh, more like a gasping cough. "I'm... Not... Dead... ... Hardsoul... Ah!" she wailed, pain coursing through her body, she jerked and her ribs throbbed with searing pain. At least I'm not dead!

Hardsoul let out a sigh of relief as he heard Nightfeather speak. "Nightfeather," he breathed. "I thought you went to join Starclan there for a moment. Thank you." That was the first time Hardsoul had ever said Thank you to anybody, but she'd just saved his life! He felt it appropriate. "Can you make it back to camp" he asked. "Tried to pull you back, but you're just too heavy,(not in a bad way)." He sat beside her with a look half-concern, half-serious.

Nigthfeather rolled her eyes and hissed in annoyance, "What do you think mousebrain? I fell from a tree, think about it for a minute and it will come to you..." she paused, "and your welcome," she said a little more softly. Nightfeather pulled herself, painfully, into a half/sitting half/slouching position. "Maybe I should eat less then," she mused.

A figured she-cat entered the opening before the half bridge. She saw the two cats infront of her but didn't think they noticed her. She softly padded by them, trying not to be noticed. She thought they would notice her, but maybe not. Her tabby pelt was dull and camoflaughed in the brush around her, her emerald eyes shone like an open fire. They gave away her identity, no doubt about it.

Nightfeather caught a very faint sound, paw steps. She smelled the air and caught a farmilliar scent. "Miragesoul," she said, her voice letting nothing spill. "We have a guest," Nightfeather mused as she brought herself to her full height, she tried to walk but her efforts were in vain. "Mousedung!" she hissed as her knees buckled [id think that cats have knees... i wouldnt like to use joints though XD] and she slithered to the ground, a scowl on her mug, she lashed her hurting tail awkwardly from side to side.

She heard. Then dashed behind a near-by bush. Her heart was pounding, it was worse that she was called Miragesoul, but that she wasn't whoever that was. She got her confidence back and walked up to the shaking she-cat, " Hello, where am I? " her voice mewed softly and shakily. She didn't know what to start with.

"Stupid mousebrain!" Hardsoul muttered to himself. "That's not what I meant!" Hardsoul watched Miragesoul approach.
((what do you mean "where am I?"))
Hardsoul flicked his tail in anxiety. "What would the clan say?" Hardsoul smirked inwardly and thought, "I don't give a mouse-tail what the clan thinks!" His muscles flexed and he found himself sitting, glaring at Miragesoul. He didn't know why but Miragesoul had just argued with Nightfeather and him, what did she want now?

The she-cat was smaller than the two cats. Her neck fur began to rise. The fear scent was probably strong by now. She didn't care. She may be more agile than the two. But the she-cat looked pretty fast. [no offence Hardsoul] The she-cat's emerald eyes were wide with confusion. She had lost her close friends and didn't know where they were. Where am I? she repeated.
