"I will have revenge! I will be back and when I do revenge will be mine for I am not Patchclaw no longer but Cane." All alone she wondered down a winding path of darkness. The stars in the sky above her seemed to look down upon her just like everyone else. A cool breeze blew all around her and she shivered. She felt so out of place and scared. Her brother was no longer there with her to protect her, comfort her. She felt that she was alone in the world. "I wish I could win, but win what? Everything, you want to win everything!" The tortoiseshell she-cat was surprised to find a voice that popped up in her head. It seemed as if someone was talking to her in her mind. Telling her what to do, what she wanted. "I don't need everything. No, but you want it!" there it was again. It seemed so close as if it came from her very heart but so distant as though she was nothing like it. It didn't sound like anything she had ever heard, thought, felt or imagined before. It felt like the voice was calling to her. It knew something she didn't but it wasn't telling her. It was like it was teasing her. "You hate being teased don't you?" It asked and she whispered out loud, "Yes." She was talking to someone but who. She felt so connected to the voice in the back of her head. "Poor Spottednose you are nothing like your brothers," the voice told her gently. "Brothers? But I have on Patchclaw? Cane!" The voice was already scaring the wits out of the poor she-cat. She was panting fast and hard. The wind rustled through trees. A branch behind her snapped and Spottednose took off. Running faster and faster until she stumbled down into the dirt. She wanted to get away from the voice and from everything else. The world around her started to blur. She was crying, but why? She struggled to her feet again and tried to run away but tripped on a root sticking out of the ground. The wind whipped around her so strongly. Drops of rain began to fall from the sky. "Help me!" she whispered horsely. "I'm here Spottednose, don't be afraid," said a voice. "Mom?" asked Spottednose turning in circles. " Shhh little one I'm here for you. No I'm here!" The voices argued in her head. "NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!" screamed Spottednose as loud as she could, "GO AWAY!!!!!!" Panting Spottednose jumped up from her nest. She spun in circles to look around herself, ready to attack any cat that dare come near. She was back in the warrior den. "Thank Starclan, it was all a dream," she whispered and noticed she had broken out in sweat. She sighed and sat down but she dared not go to sleep. She was scared.[/size]

Mudstorm just entered the warriors den, her large green eyes pools of sadness, if Spottednose gave her a questioning glare she would ignore it. Curiosity did flare in her belly at Spottednose's scared and wide eyes. She curled up in a very tight ball and collapsed into herself, her sobs were as silent as she was as her body tried to calm itself down.
STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!!! her mind threw at itself, stop crying for your brother! stop crying for yourself as a kit! and just plain stop crying for yourself! You will never ever shed another tear for him! Never!!!
Mudstorm's shaking stopped as she calmed down, Never again, never again, never again... she kept repeating.

Spottednose jumped when she saw Mudstorm enter the warriors den. At first her heart raced fast when she saw the brown she-cat walk into the den but calmed down when she realized that it was only Mudstorm. She didn't dare make eye contact with her fellow warrior. She didn't want any one to see her fear, even though it was obvious. She felt all alone, she didn't want to be alone but she would not let herself seem weak to any cat, even a friend. Spottednose was so wrapped up in herself she neglected even to notice that Mudstorm was upset. Confused, she was.

When Mudstorm senced the light of day aproaching soon, she uncurled herself, her muscles and joints cracking and stretching. "No one is ever the same in the morning," her whisper becoming one with the wind, "You're away different in the night..." Mudstorm sat up and looked at Spottednose with friendliness and energy bubbling in her bright green eyes, "Morning Spottednose, lovey almost-dawn isn't it?" She got up and paced happily out of the warriors den and went to the fresh kill pile, I'll go hunt for some later, she thought to herself, singing ever so softly the most bright but slow song.

The tortishell warrior had curled up in the corse of the night. She had propped her head up with her paws and lay staring into space. Relizing then as Mudstorm got up that she indeed had stayed up all night. "Good morning Mudstorm, It is a nice dawn," called Spottednose polightly. She felt a bit better now though still a bit shaken up from her nightmare. She watched as the brown she-cat padded out of the warriors den but still she herself did not dare get up yet. She looked around and saw a few other warriors starting to stir in their beds. Finally she pulled herself out of her nest and started to pad sleepily out of the den. She felt like going on a patrol at the moment but did not want to ask for fear of getting in the way.
