Apprenticing

[Fernear!]

Fernstar gave one powerful jump onto the highledge. After her walk with Rainefrost she was having trouble deciding where every aprentice should go. May every cat who can catch their own prey come before the highledge! her voice boomed.

Owlpaws eyes widened. Purring gently, she trotted into the clearing. As she spotted Fernstar, she bowed her head, eyes focused on her leader. Her tail flicked in impatience, and her ears twisted to catch every sound. She wondered if this was perhaps to do with what Fernstar had been talking about with the other cat. She hadn't heard what they were saying, but it must be important if there was a meeting about that. But then again, what if it was something else all together? She gave a shudder and sat up again. She didn't want to appear strange in front of the one cat she respected most.

[Fernear!]

Fernstar decided to start the ceremony, It has come to my attention that there are apprntices without mentors. I wish to give them their mentors now. Fernstar looked around, she saw Owlpaw first. Owlpaw, please come forward. Fernstar sat there for a few seconds. She didnt yet know who her mentor would be. She would wait for the warriors to come around.

Mudstorm looked up at Fernear on the highledge, "My, my Owlpaw has grown" she thought. She shared a private smile to herself, "Lucky cat who gets to mentor her! The cute thing!" Mudstorm waited to see who would get to mentor Owlpaw, she would then go congradulate them.

[owlpaw]

Owlpaws heart was beating against her chest. Quivvering with excitment, she padded foward. She tried to look calm, but her eyes were wide, and her tail kept twitching. She would finally have a mentor! This meant that one day, she would be a real warrior! Purring softly, she stopped and trembled. As she looked around, she began to think... Who would be her mentor? Would they be a queen, or a tom? More questions popped into her head, but she tried to clear them out. The first apprentice to get a mentor!

[Fernear!]

[I'm going to just play the mentoring cat so it goes faster. If they don't come for a while.]
Fernstar purred, this young cat was a lively one, she would learn fast. You have showed that you have become an apprentice, I shall now give you your mentor. Fernstar was now hot, she was hopefully not going to make a mistake, Duskwing, may you please step forward. She would give the first apprentice to the warrior. Mistypaw, Rabbitpaw and
Silverpaw left. Just as much as Owlpaw was quivvering, for Fernstar this was her first time apprenticing. It may be the wrong time to look, but she hadn't seen Roseleaf for a few moons. She would need a new medicine cat, her head dipped sadly. Then she lifted it slowly, waiting for Duskwing to reply.

Spottednose sat in the back row of cats. She was a bit late but that didn't stop her from listening. She hadn't really understood what Fernstar had said so she leaned over and whispered to Mudstorm, "What happened?"

Poor Duskwing was zoned out. He watched as a butterfly fluttered pat, not a vare in the world. Then something stole his interest. His ears pricked up as he heard Fernstar call his name and tell him to come forward. He turned his head and saw a young cat. "Assigning mentors?" Duskwing obediantly walked up to Fernstar and looked at the small cat. She was quivering and twitching in excitment. "Thank you Fernstar for giving me the hyper one!" He laughed and walked up to his leader, his eyes darting from the little cat to his leader.

[Fernear!]

Fernstar chuckled quietly, Duskwing, Owlpaw shall be your new apprentice. I hope you accept. Fernstar awaited his reply so her plee to Starclan for accepting this apprentice could begin.

[owlpaw]

Owlpaw gazed at the grey cat, her eyes shining. She sunk her claws into the ground to stop herself from leaping up in excitement. She twitched her ear to face him, purring ecstatically the whole time. Calm yourself Owlpaw... You'll be seeing him everyday for the next.. who knows how long. Her gaze flickered back and forwards, Duskwing to Fernstar, Fernstar to Duskwing. But what if he declines? Oh no... what if I end up with someone like Tigerstar!. She had heard the story of Tigerstar many times as a kit, and though she knew that there was no one like him in the clan, she could not help but worry. Normally nothing would worry her, but this was something that would affect her life, affect what sort of warrior she was. She looked at both her leader and maybe mentor to be with affection.

Stripefur looked up at Fernstar. He looked at his paws again. Maybe he didnt get an apprentice cause he was gone for so long in the forest of Thunderclan. He left for almost a moon. He did, come back with important knews about some knew Rouges and stuff. But maybe Fernstar will just wait for him to stay a little longer in thunderclan without leaving before getting an apprentice. He didnt blame anyone if they didnt trust him. It was infact his own fault that he left.

"Owlpaw got her mentor; Duskwing." she whispered, "He's lucky though, Owlpaw is a very sweet and bouncy cat eh?" she chuckled, that cat sure is bouncy!

[Fernear!]

Fernstar decided to continue, Duskwing, do you accept Owlpaw as your apprentice? she asked. There were a few more apprentices to apprentice, it may take a little bit to get through them all.

[Fernear!]

When she noticed, it was soon the full moon. on a side note, the cats that are coming to the gathering are as followed. Owlpaw, Duskwing, Mudstorm, Stripefur, Rainefrost, Spottednose, Clawfire, Strongheart and Spearpaw. Fernstar hopefully made the right choices.

Stripefur smiled and got ready to go to the gathering.
