((Last, but not least, Twigpaw finally makes his entrance! I'm sorry I'm late *kills homework and stupid research project*))
"All Riverclan cats old enough to catch their own prey join under Pool Rock for a clan meeting!"
The gangly apprentice hurtled into camp at top speed in just enough time to hear Oakstar call the clan together for a clan meeting. The brown apprentice managed to stop himself from plowing into Silkgrass by tripping over his tail which he had lowered to the ground as he listened to the voice of his leader ring throughout the camp.
Collecting himself Twigpaw padded over to Tigerpaw and sat next to him, fully aware of the eyes of the clan boring into him. The young tom cringed at the thought of how his pelt must look. The RiverClan apprentice had never groomed himself since that morning and he could feel all of the twigs and dry leaves clinging to his pelt and his ruffled fur going in all directions.
Deciding to try and tame the wild mess of his fur Twigpaw stood up and gave himself a good shake, dislodging some of the dead twigs and leaves from his matted brown pelt. When he was done with that Twigpaw gave himself a few quick licks to settle most of his fur before sitting down again.
The apprentice was also aware of something other than his untidy pelt. Twigpaw had disregarded Oakstar's request that he try and hunt something based on the quick lesson on hunting he had already been given when he received his name. Well, hunting in leaf-bare was boring in leaf-bare anyway because there was nothing to catch, besides, he could always tell her that he had been unsuccessful because he needed more training, her never did have to tell Oakstar he directly disobeyed her on purpose....
His musings were cut short because Oakstar was talking once more.
“This sunset, I welcome four deserving, Riverclan apprentices in need of mentors; Twigpaw, Tigerpaw, Falconpaw and Minnowpaw will you please step forward. These apprentices have taken their names, but today they shall receive their mentors and start their training to become new warriors and take their new names.
Come forward Twigpaw, from this day forward you are a full apprentice, and your mentor shall be Silkgrass. I hope you will teach him all you know and make him a fine warrior as you are yourself.”
Twigpaw obediently came forward and touched noses with his mentor. The young apprentice was both excited and unhappy at the same time. He was a little doubtful in the new cat's abilities, but he was excited to finally start learning how to become a warrior at last, but that also meant that now he would have far less free time, but he could cope. Soon it would all pay off because he would be a warrior and be able to do whatever he wanted, no more listening to Oakstar and being at her every beck and call right? Something was telling him different but the naive tom was indifferent to that fact right now...

FALconPAWDid he just hear what he thought he did? Was he really assigned the one cat he looked up to, the one some seemed to be intimidated by? Hawkice? The tom could barely believe it with his ow ears, and he hopped lightly onto his paws, and let out a happy purr. these times would be tough, but fun at the same time. Hunting, fighting, the whole lot. He wanted to squeal like a kit, but he held his head high, and loped over to Hawkice, touching noses lightly with him, his lights gleaming happily. Finally, they were all made apprentices, but Falconpaw wanted to go over to Minnowpaw, and congratulate her. A new medicine cat apprentice!
Falconpaw wondered if Minnowpaw had wanted to become a warrior, or if she had asked to be the medicine cat apprentice. His head still held high, falconpaw wandered over to Minnowpaw, his lights bright, and showing a deep happiness in them, that rarely was seen. "Congratulations, Minnowpaw!" Falconpaw meowed happily to his friend, licking her in between the ears. "You'll do wonderful, I know you will," he meowed encouragingly, almost a promise, letting his tail-tip flick with joyous ease. He left her to talk with his mentor, and went over to visit Twigpaw.
His face still broken out in a dumbfounded smile, Falconpaw cuffed Twigpaw over the ear. "I'll be looking forward to training with yourself and Tigerpaw, I hope we do well. Silkgrass will be a fine mentor" the tom meowed, nodded happily, his ivory claws digging into the soil under-paw. Happiness had spread warmth throughout his body, and he tracked down the scent of Tigerpaw, and lazily padded over to the other tom. "Congratulations," he purred, smiling gently at Tigerpaw. It was easy to befriend the two toms, and it would be fun, because the three of them had the apprentices den all to themselves. Just the three toms, imagine what they could do together!
Although Falconpaw wasn't much of the avid joker, he always loved to dream about things he could to to cause a ruckus about the camp, frightening the kits, or the elders. He wouldn't dare try anything with Oakstar, but he always dreamed. At cat could dream, couldn't he? Trotting over to the apprentices den, he nosed his way in, his green eyes shining brightly in the dimmed den. The scents were stale, but soon that would change. They were finally apprentices. Finally. After 6 moons of waiting, and a small delay, they were finally real apprentices of RiverClan. He sighed happily, and nosed together some moss, and some scattered feathers, and then padded out, hoping no one would take his nest. He trotted over to Hawkice, hoping he did nothing wrong.

Minnowpaw's brilliant aqua orbs were a swirling pool of endless happiness and shock. She had never, ever expected to become a medicine cat apprentice. This was going to be an enormous responsibility. If she messed up it wouldn't be her life if she made a careless mistake, but another's life. She shuttered at the thought.
Her white paws were rooted to the spot and she could only stare blankly, unsure what to do now. Was it different being a medicine cat apprentice or did she just learn herbs instead of fighting? Would this mean that she wouldn't be learning how to hunt?! No she wanted to learn that. So many tales she had heard of hunting patrols finding more than they bargained for. What adventure would there be for a medicine cat? No tales were ever told of exciting accounts concerning medicine cats. All the action, fun and adventure was in the life of a warrior.
StarClan knew though just as well as she, deep down inside fighting and the life of a warrior would never suite her, it would only make her miserable in the years to come. Besides, now was her chance to make the elder's tell of her grand adventures, as a medicine cat! Well apprentice that is.
Minnowpaw lifted her paws and turned her splotched, multie-color face toward her new mentor. She padded up to Streamheart and reached up to touch noses to her mentor. She felt a sense of pride and excitement rushed through her. All of her previous misgivings vanished like snow under the sun.
She turned as she heard soft foot falls drawing near her. Happiness flooded her and her broad grin widened. Minnowpaw felt giddy and lightheaded with all of the attention and praise. She was finally an official apprentice. His touch felt warm and soothing. His smile only made hers grow until her grin was from ear to ear. Her facial muscles were begging to burn and hurt from all of the smiling.
His encouragement caused a contend purr to rise happily from her throat. She closed her eyes and savored the moment. The tips of her black ears were burning and she suddenly felt shy. Why did she feel so different when every she was near Falconpaw? Was it the sense of happiness or security his presence brought her. Did she feel something for him?
OF COURSE NOT! She was young and love? Blah! It was so sappy and...it was something for older cats, not her. She was young and free. Falconpaw was just a friend and friends were special and valuable things. No she was not falling for him. He was handsome. She would not express her non existing feelings for him. Well perhaps later, if they ever existed. With that she pushed the thoughts away with ease, clearing her mind.
Minnowpaw opened her eyes and watched him leave, but not before adding her own "Congrats" to him. The calico pondered on leaving her mentor and mingling. Finally she decided that she would wait for Streamheart's approval. What would they do now? Would she start her training tomorrow or right away?

The golden warrior padded up to her new apprentice and touched noses with him. She smiled as she looked at his pelt. He still had morning pelt. Silkgrass didn't laugh nor would she say anything about it, she didn't mind. The tom's emotions flooded from his body. Silkgrass couldn't identify everything he felt and in turn she couldn't feel the full amount of Twigpaw's doubt for the she-cat.
"Don't worry, I've been in RiverClan for many moons and I've seen more land than many cats will in their lives. I'll do my best to teach you everything I know."
Her voice was quiet but truthful. Silkgrass had never trained an apprentice, the thought of doing so delighted her and made her heart skip a beat. Though she may be a little ambitious and cold, she was still a fair, loyal warrior and no matter what, she'd always be a loyal RiverClan warrior.
Without any words said, she looked up at her leader. Her eyes were filled with gratitude and respect, yet again. In her mind the words 'thank you' repeated themselves over and over again. But, as she remembered just in the nick of time, she began to chant the apprentices' names.
"Twigpaw, Falconpaw, Minnowpaw!"
Silkgrass had completely forgotten about the thought of having a new medicine cat apprentice. Minnowpaw seemed like a very fitting cat for the position. To tell you the truth, Minnowpaw had gained Silkgrass's respect even before the ceremony. She'd like to see how her learning goes, Streamheart is a wonderful cat and will surely be a great mentor. As for Falconpaw, this tom was somewhat unknown to the warrior. All Silkgrass knew, was that he was a bright but quick tempered. He reminded her of what she was like, especially her in her apprentice days. If she had become his mentor she may argue with him if his temper erupted. As many cats knew, Silkgrass was known for this.
Looking at her apprentice again she began to think up their first lesson. Maybe she'd have a 'round-robin' type of 'test', if you must. She could see how his hunting and fighting skills have developed thus far so she could pick-up from there. Silkgrass would probably prefer to begin with a hunting lesson. Hunting in Leaf-bare is always a lump of clay just waiting to be molded into something interesting.

((Yay, Twigpaw gets to be clay! xD lol!)) "I'll be looking forward to training with yourself and Tigerpaw, I hope we do well. Silkgrass will be a fine mentor."
Twigpaw nodded and then whacked Falconpaw on the nose with his claws sheathed. "I look forward to it," the young cat wiggled his hind quarters slightly as he said it, eager to go ahead and start right then and there.
The brown cat felt a strong since of pride well up in his chest as he heard his name being called for the second time, but this time he was a full apprentice of RiverClan. The tom's tail tip began to twitch and he started to fidget he was so eager to get started with his training or at least do something.
"Don't worry, I've been in RiverClan for many moons and I've seen more land than many cats will in their lives. I'll do my best to teach you everything I know."
Twigpaw accepted this and seemed to put more trust in his leader's decision and his mentor's ability. "So when can we start Silkgrass? I'm ready to go now!" The energetic cat was so excited he could barely keep himself under control, his paws were just itching to do something rather than stand around here and exchange formalities with each other. "Can we do some battle training, or what about going on a patrol?"
Unable to hold himself under control the apprentice began to bounce around his mentor, pelting her with all sorts of questions. His amber eyes sparkled with mischief and excitement.
((Eh, not my best, but oh well, that's what you get for replying when you are half asleep. x.x ))

Oakstar smiled as the new apprentices padded over to their mentors. Twigpaw looked unsure, and a flash of panic washed over the leader. Had she made the right choice? Twigpaw could be stubborn at times, and Oakstar trusted Silkgrass to know what to do. But of course Silkgrass had never been a mentor before today, could she deal with him? Of course she could, she was a grown cat and could make decisions on her own. Couldn't she?
Oakstar shook her head, trying to clear these thoughts. The first sign of your mind going was always debating everything in your head, until it was about to explode. The she-cat leaped from Pool Rock, then turned and took a small drink from the water below the leaders perch to clear her head. Then she rose and began to walk through the crowd. Riverclan thrived, yet she felt so alone, like decisions that had seemed so easy to make in her youthful leader age now felt like rocks, burdening her until she stumbled.
Padding over to Silkgrass, she nodded her head to her companion, "My friend, you will make a great mentor, everyone in this camp believes in you, whether you realize it or not." Then, turning to Twigpaw, she added, "And you be thankful for having Silkgrass as a mentor. If I were your mentor, I would send you to your den straightaway and tell you to get some sleep, but of course Silkgrass is a kinder cat than I." Turning away from the apprentice she winked at Silkgrass and walked away, despite her attitude. A knot clawed her stomach and she grimaced, and circled the camp, looking for some other cat, but mostly Hawkice.

The four apprentices stepped to the front of the crowd. All motion, all sound, suddenly stopped. All eyes focused on Oakstar as she began to speak. Any comments that Tigerpaw wanted to make were lost as the tabby tom glanced up at his leader with bated breath.
Twigpaw was named first, paired with Silkgrass. Although Tigerpaw wasn't too familiar with Silkgrass, he knew firsthand what a hassle Twigpaw could be. He silently wished her luck, and then turned back to the proceedings.
Minnowpaw was next, the cat that could go down either path. Tigerpaw tensed, not daring to hope for that small chance... When Minnowpaw was named as the medicine cat apprentice, Tigerpaw let out the tiniest of sighs, barely audible. He'd expected as much, anyway.
Then they were down to two, and the risk of Hawkice was still floating around, even though Tigerpaw had not seen the tom for a few days. But his worries were quickly quelled when Falconpaw was made Hawkice's apprentice. He glanced sideways at Falconpaw, who seemed to be stunned with shock for the briefest of moments. Then the brown tom purred and walked off to greet his mentor, leaving Tigerpaw last and alone.
He glanced back at Oakstar, staring into her eyes. The main danger of Hawkice had passed, but there were other cats that could be just as bad. After what seemed like a moon, his mentor was named. Steelpool. The young tom nodded respectfully towards Oakstar and padded away, his mind working. He knew next to nothing about Steelpool, only what he looked like and that he had been a warrior of RiverClan for a long time.
He spotted his mentor in the mass of cats and headed towards him, passing and ignoring Twigpaw, who was already showing how energetic and impatient he could be. He paused behind Minnowpaw, about to say something, but then he shook his head and went on. He was stopped, however, by Falconpaw, who had padded lazily over to give him a congratulations. Tigerpaw considered his fellow apprentice. If Stormkit had survived, would he have grown up like Falconpaw? "Hey, congrats too. And... good luck!" Tigerpaw called towards Falconpaw's retreating back, before pushing his way through the crowd of cats and touching noses with his mentor. He took a few steps back, waiting for the older cat to speak.

[OOC: OMG sorry guys. I had to move and stuff with no internet for a month.. So sorry luffs!!] |:: Large paws stepped forward out of the shadows of contentment of this massive tom. Bronze and sulfur fur watched Oakstar with love in his icey eyes. His name was called for Falconpaw, the little apprentice whom showed much to call for. Angular shaped head bowed as he approached the small tom. The little feline had semi large paws, good to grow in. Hawkice's lynx ears perked forward and nodded his head towards his new apprentice, not noticing what Oakstar was saying. I will teach you everything I have known and been taught, and in turn you will teach me becoming a better mentor. I hope to teach you well. Curves formed at the sides of his lips and formed a perfect smile into his cold face.
|:: The icey tom wasn't one for warmth, or sunlight. Cold hard bitterness was his usual vortay, but sinse he fell in love with Oakstar, everything seemed to change. His eyes had gotten lighter, and his face had softened. His heart was open and no longer a stone. He faced his newly appointed apprentice and touched his cute pink nose with his own. A cold shiver shot up his spine and to the tip of his short stub of a tail. A warmth spread into his eyes as he looked upon the tom, seeing himself inside his milky orbs. His reflection coming into his own eyes, but the spunk and the soul came forward and Hawkice saw a part of himself in the little tom, and his heart burst. He did want his own kits, and he knew that Oakstar put the clan in first, and he wanted her happy.

Falconpaw grinned sheepishly, his tail flicking happily. "Can we please go out and explore the territory soon, Hawkice?" the tom begged his mentor, sheathing and unsheathing his claws, making deep indentations into the soil. "I'm itching to get out of the camp," he moaned dramatically, flicking his tail playfully. He looked at Twigpaw and Tigerpaw, and back to Hawkice. "The others are allowed out as well, right?" he asked hopefully, kneading the ground in a slow, rhythmic pace.
A thingyy, sarcastic smile was plastered onto his face. But it turned into a frown. At least they could get a little training in, it wasn't dusk just yet. He couldn't wait to be a warrior, then maybe become a mentor when he got older. He sighed as he thought about it, imagining himself walking proudly up to accept an apprentice. He then snapped back into reality, and grinned at his idiotic daydreams. They rarely happened, and when they did, he growled at himself, for he may have missed something important. Either way, this tom was thinking way ahead of himself, unless he was able to train at an excruciating pace, which he wouldn't like at all.
"I'm willing to help you to become the best mentor you can be, and I will do my best to please you," Falconpaw murmured quietly, his eyes shining happily. He would love to learn how to hunt, and get everything correct, he'd love to please his mentor, and that's just what he was aiming to do. He sighed, wondering how tired he would be. As a kit, he would go to sleep restless, anxious to become an apprentice, and now that he was, questions probed his mind.
'I wonder...' he began to himself in his head. 'I wonder. Will I find some she-cat suitable for me when I'm a warrior? Will I fall eagerly into my nest when I get back from training? Will the session be long and hard? Will my observation before I become a full warrior go well? Will we each be made warriors at the same time, different times, or will any of the three of us be held back for our actions?
Truth is, the tom had never even heard stories of apprentices being held back, but he knew it was possible, just like it was possible for a kit to be confined in the back of the nursery for some wrongdoing. One last question stuck the back of his mind. 'How many fights will I ever be in, when I'm an apprentice? Will it cost me my life?' The last question shocked him. He had never thought that way, and he wanted to tremble, but he kept his gaze focused straight ahead of him, searching for nothing.

|:: Ice blue eyes watched the apprentice as his words fumbled out of his mouth, the exightment coming off the little tom like waves off the shoreline. A chuckle escaped from the large tom-cat's mouth and he spread his mouth in a large grin. Hawkice was happy to have another apprentice. His last apprentice had.. well.. she had died in a dog attack, leaving hawkice without an apprentice, and a peice of his heart missing. He loved the little feline like his own kit, and her mother had died giving birth to her. She had told Hawkice everything, and he had thought he failed as a mentor, and had been declining apprentices for moons, until now. He smiled to Falconpaw and looked over to Silkgrass. Silkgrass.. Would you and Twigpaw like to join Falconpaw and I on the evening patrol? He smiled hoping the pretty she-cat would say yes. Of course, Hawkice didn't think of her in that way, he loved Oakstar.
|:: He padded away and went over to Oakstar, and smiled. What has starclan said? He asked, his heart fluttering in the anticipation that he may never love his Oakstar, and she would have to choose between breaking the code and him. Hawkice wanted her to choose him, but at the same time, he was torn for her to choose the clans. They were more important than just him alone. Rusty pelt looked ashy in the fading light. He would leave soon for the evening patrol with his newly appointed apprentice, and maybe even Silkgrass and her apprentice as well, but he wanted to hear what Oakstar had to say to him first. He wanted to know, and it was almost killing him to wait. Hawkice gathered his muscles and forced himself to sit back on his haunches, relaxing most of his muscles for the patrol later on. He looked into the cloudy blue's of which consisted of Oakstars eyes. Oh how he could gaze into them and never feel any anger or sorrow or pity anymore. He took in her sweet scent, letting it engulf him and his eyes went completely blank, hoping to make bad news easier for Oakstar, if that was the case.
|:: Hawkice had great controll over his emotions, and his eyes. If he didn't want you to read anything, he wouldn't let you, but if he did, you could see into his very soul. Or atleast Oakstar could. His stub of a tail stayed motionless behind him, and he waited patiently for Oakstar's decision.

Falconpaw nodded, listening intently to every word that came out of Hawkice's mouth. He continued listening, and when he finished, his excitement showed clearly through his deep green eyes. Silkgrass and Twigpaw? Falconpaw wanted to jump for joy, his heart rate increasing rapidly. Falconpaw's ears pricked, his whiskers twitched, and his blood pulsed through his veins. Finally he'd be allowed out of the camp, and to go on a dusk patrol as a full-fledged apprentice!
He sighed, and began to lick his chest fur roughly, and began kneading the ground, awaiting the reply from Silkgrass. He was so excited, and it made everything shine with a crispness the tom had never seen before. Of course, it was only his senses on high alert, for nothing, but his excitement made his heart flutter, and kept him on his toes.
In...one...two...three Out...one...two...three
The tom thought to himself, his effective way of calming himself. He settled down, finally able to sit down, without fidgeting, or writhing. What had made him exceptionally happy was that he had accomplished making Hawkice smile. If he smiled at Falconpaw's eagerness, than he'd be smiling plenty more times, because he wasn't ready to stop training until he became good enough to become a warrior of RiverClan. "
"I'm so excited!" the tom accidentally squeaked, instantly looking down to the ground, his pelt burning with embarrassment. He had meant to think that, not say it aloud. He managed a weak chuckle out of his throat, which was transferred to a smile. It was too hard to stay angry at himself, when he was so focused on doing everything right.
The tom tried not to think too much about perfection, because when he thought too much of it, it never happened. He knew especially he needed to do well before his mentor, Hawkice, which seemed an extremely hard task ahead of him, for Hawkice, in Falconpaw's point of view, was the best warrior there was, apart from Oakstar, of course. Who would dare call a warrior better than the leader of a clan?
The tom smiled, as he watched his mentor approach Oakstar, and wondered what they were talking about. Surely it wasn't about him, for he was just made an apprentice, unless Hawkice didn't want him anymore? Falconpaw narrowed his eyes, deep in thought. He had made the warrior smile, surely he wasn't going to give off Falconpaw. He had just said he wanted to be the best mentor he could be! But the thought still irked at Falconpaw's mind, making him begin to fidget once more.

Silkgrass smiled and sent a giggle of her own into the world. The emotional shore that Hawkice had felt was definitely felt by the rock that could represent Silkgrass in this watery scene. After hearing what Twigpaw had asked, and soon Hawkice, Silkgrass was beginning to feel her own self becoming eager and excited.
"I can assure we shall!"
The mentor had not taken the time to ask Twigpaw in this occasion, surely this would answer his question about their first lesson. Recalling what Oakstar had said about her being a kinder cat than she, made Silkgrass a little uneasy. The truth was that she wasn't and will never be. Oakstar was the kinder cat. Oakstar was one of those cats who you could never get mad at, it seemed. Silkgrass, on the other hand, could aggravate many cats. The number of cats she has done this to, already, has been growing since before her time with the clans
Hissing under her breath yet again, the she-cat began to hate her personality but accepted that it will not change. In the end, she didn't want her clan mates to feel her unease.
"I'm glad that you're excited, Falconpaw. After all, at least you get a mentor..."
Her voice began to trail as she got closer to speaking about the ceremony. This she-cat just couldn't drop her negative feelings, could she? Silkgrass's passion was openly flooding from her golden eyes. She didn't want it to, but you can't dam a river once it has flooded.
[ooc: poor Silkgrass.. I hope she gets happier xD I also apologize for this post, I didn't want to go any longer with such horrible muse.]

"And you be thankful for having Silkgrass as a mentor. If I were your mentor, I would send you to your den straightaway and tell you to get some sleep, but of course Silkgrass is a kinder cat than I."
Twigpaw snorted and mumbled something under his breath to Oakstar, but decided that she was right about Silkgrass, it was just that he some times rushed to conclusions in order to move on. He seriously needed to get that under hand before someone else decided to help him with it.
"I can assure we shall!"
Twigpaw stopped his pacing and sat down at his mentor's feet ready for her to lead the way. The young cat twitched an ear in surprise as he could have sworn that Silkgrass had just hissed at Oakstar, so he wasn't the only one that had some misgivings toward their leader, cool.
His golden eyes stayed locked on his mentor while a swarm of emotions seemed to wash over her face, but he didn't really care, what ever issues she had she would need to sort out on her own.
((Eh, crappy post, sorry!))
